A client asked me to create an interpretation of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” on a cake for her daughter’s baby shower. She asked me to incorporate some pink in with the blue since they weren’t sure of the sex of the baby. Starry Night is her daughter’s favorite painting - so she thought it would be a cool surprise!

This was for an adoption party for a 4yo little girl. She is a big Dora fan, and when I found this little Dora doll holding the 'Wish' star, I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the design. You can't see it very well in the photos, but the white border is real fluffy like clouds. Fondant stars, airbrushed swirls, the rest is BC.

I used a giant muffin cake pan on top of a 12-inch square to make this cake for my church movie night. The popcorn is randomly piped clouds shaded with brown and golden yellow coloring gel. I used clear cake sprinkles for salt. It went over really well.

My first attempt at whimsy tiers. I kind of like that the second one is bulgy on the side! I've also posted close-ups of the sides, which have Serenity, an Enterprise, the Death Star, a castle, and a Doozer from Fraggle Rock.

This is a cake I did for the opening of the sleep center at the local hospital. I thought it would make a cute baby shower cake, though.

This was my first attempt using fondant -_-; My fiance plays WoW and I wanted to make him something special for his birthday. Hopefully next time I'll know what I'm doing and can do a better job. He was happy though and that's all that matters!

This was not supposed to be the cake. I had to improvise last minute and make this instead. My Aunt wanted a Happy Birthday Jesus cake, and left the design up to me. My FBCT did not work, so I used what I had and made this.

White Almond Sour Cream Cake with Bailey's Irish Cream Filling. Done for a Girls Night Out Party. First time I tried doing a diamond pattern - by hand (will order a mat!) and the first time I tried the curly things and the wire with the RI dots. Very fun to do... learning experience for sure. I had to add the leaves as fillers as it looked so plain,.. and I stuck my finger in the black icing on the edge so I had to cover my mistake... can you find it! Now I just can't wait for the party!!! Enjoy!!

Marbled fondant with silver "stars" and a fondant drape that is really 3 pieces and was placed on-site. The cake is supposed to represent the sky changing day into night and the green marbled swag is the Northern Lights. Topper is white chocolate.

My oldest son couldn't decide what 'theme' he wanted for his birthday this year. So I suggested why not all his favorites. He loved it... and the cake too. It's a WASC cake (his fav) and the images of all his favorite cake are printed on icing sheets and made to look like a movie reel around the side. On top is a White Choc. box of popcorn (cake) and the popcorn is made of BC. I make plain yellow cupcakes for the kids party... thus no arguing over who got what movie! Enjoy & thanks CC for the ideas!

I made this cake for a girl's night out, but had n idea what I would come up with. The women were made in run-on icing. The bows were Satin Ice fondant.

This is a b-day cake for my niece who was recently in a school performance of Aladdin so she wanted something with an Arabian theme. Instead of jewel tones I used green and purple tones to make it a little more girly. Everything was done in fondant which is still a fairly new medium for me. It's really fun to work with! White cake w/ strawberry jam filling, iced in BC, covered in fondant.

I had these grand plans of buildings that extended higher than the cake and RI webs that went from the buildings to the cupcakes. Nothing dried after a 5 day wait so this was the compromise. I wish you could see the cupcake wrapper better. I used dark chocolate and then dusted with midnight blue lusterdust. It looked great. I had to tell 3 or 4 guests that they didn't have to unwrap them that it was edible. All in all the customer and the 3 year old were VERY happy...and that is really all that matters .

This was my first commissioned cake and boy did I learn a lot! I work MUCH BETTER when I'm NOT UNDER STRESS! I kept freaking out and messing up and the whole cake felt like an utter disaster. A cake that should have taken me two hours to decorate ended up taking closer to eight and by the end all I could see was mistakes! The flag was the part I kept messing up on, and I kept having to make new sails!

Groom's cake for a guy who was a police officer. They didn't have any ideas and wanted me to just come up with something so I asked the couple to take a pic of him arresting her. After the picture was taken, I placed a blinking light on the cake next to the radio that flashed red and blue lights like a cop car's cherry lights. It ws a hit!

Gluten-free rich fruit cake covered in marzipan and fondant. Stars are fondant; trees are stenciled on in royal icing. I had a lot of trouble with this deeply colored fondant (used pre-colored Professional Regalice); it distressed very easily as I smoothed it.

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this." Isaiah 9:6-7

Please be kind! I wanted to try painting a cake, so of course I chose a Van Gogh..Sheesh!! :) 8" and 6" cakes covered in fondant and painted with Wilton colors. Royal icing and luster dust accents. It obviously isn't an exact replica, my proportions are a bit off, but it was fun to try. Thanks for looking!
