This was my first try at FBCT. My waxed paper was wrinkled so I have a big ripple through the design. I also bumped into the border while I was doing the writing. Good thing it's for a friend!

gumpaste, pearl luster dusted seashells. Gumpaste lighthouse formed over styrofoam cone. Then I made a cone about same size out of rice krispies treats and placed the dried gumpaste cone shell over the rice krispy treat cone. I frosted the rice krispy cone with some royal icing to get best fit. Did this for structural stability of lighthouse. Seagulls on logs.

I got this cake idea off of someone on here, but can't look it up since there is an error. A chocolate cake with bc and ganache mixed for filling and coating. Satin ice vanilla fondant covering the cake with luster paints in green, blue, and gold. The life preserver is just styro covered in
wilton fondant since no one is eating that. The anchors are white choc colored with gold luster . Thanks for looking!

I was in a rush at the last minute to make a cake for 89 yr old man who loved sailing so I got this idea from saramama. The cake is butter cake with filling of chocolate, all icing is buttercream except for fondant life preservers. I tried to make sides go up like waves.

Lighthouse and base are gumpaste and fondant over styro. Seashells are mmf dusted with gold and pearl luster dusts. The lighthouse "stucco" look , wave and birds were inspired by Tanyacakes. Thanks to Doug for sending the template for the railing - unfortuntately, it didn't have enough time to dry and broke..so I improvised.

This is my second entry in the cake show. I had a blast doing this cake. I made this up at the last minute. The anchor is a hand drawn color flow piece sprayed with silver luster. The chain on the anchor was also last minute because it snapped in two spots so I made the chain to cover up the cracks!

This is a round cake with a smaller cake molded into a tank on top. The cakes are both yellow cakes with chocolate whipped frosting. The smaller of the two was baked in a mini loaf pan, frozen, and then shaped with a knife. I iced then covered with fondant. I also added peanut butter cookie crumbs for a little sand and fish shaped sprinkles on the sides. The chocolate "swooshes" were supposed to be like chocolate waves. This is my first cake of this kind.

The Christian school wanted an inspirational cookie bouquet for their silent auction. The lighthouses are 6 inch cookies, so it's the biggest bouquet I've ever done. This picture was taken before I tissue papered and bagged everything, so the stems look naked -- sorry.

Never thought I'd see a nautical teddy bear themed bridal shower, but I was given the napkin and asked to make the cake. It's quite unique, that's for sure.
All buttercream decorating.

Fondant covered boat with gum paste sail and nautical flags on a cream cheese frosted red velvet cake. The nautical flags spell the birthday girl's name. Wish I had more time on it, but oh well good enough.

These chocolates (yes chocolate) :) were all hand made by me. They are also flavored! Butter rum, vanilla butter nut, coconut, and mint to name a few. It is eatable art! People can't believe that they are eatable and that they are chocolate. Most people think they are REAL shells! You can see some of the other shells I have been making on my website www.danasflowers.net Enjoy!
