This is my first cupcake cake. I used the South Carolina flag emblem for my design. Actually the FBCT stuck and I had to fill it in and then smooth it over once it crusted. Originally I had a better design but it got flattened and the original design expanded a little after I smoothed it. At first, the crescent moon and Palmetto Tree weren't touching.

This is a 22" x 15" sheet cake that consisted of yellow pound cake with chocolate/mocha mousse filling and buttercream icing. The star cake consisted of the same components. I made the stars, moons and banner out of a fondant/gumpaste materials. I created the shimmering, silver moons after reading a CC forum topic on how to achieve a bright metallic looking gold finish and just transferred the idea to silver. I have learned so much on this site from tips and suggestions from others. Thank you.

Cake for aunt's birthday. She swears that there was a man who was lost in space and disentigrated into thin air. Football shaped pan used for space ship which is chocolate cake, iced in buttercream and covered in rolled buttercream with rolled buttercream and buttercream accents. Moon is made from 3D Ball pan and is chocolate cake ice in buttercream and covered in rolled buttercream. Astronaut is fondant. Letters and stars are rolled buttercream. My twin sister's baby theme for her son was stars and moons. When I came up with this idea from a classic oldies song "Heaven must of sent me an angel". My sister and husband loved it. This is my first cake I ever made in 5/2002.

This is an idea that came from auntiemcakes. I believe hers is better! The bottom is a 10', 2 layer german chocolate with cream cheese frosting filling. The top is an 8", 2 layer lemon cake with strawberry filling. Everything is buttercream and I airbrushed (color misted) the colors on. I WISH I had an airbrush...the colors would come out a LOT nicer. I did the sun and moon from color flow. My sun rays kept breaking so I didn't want to draw a face on her in case she broke some more. Thanks for looking!

"I wanna a Rocket Cake". That's what the birthday boy said when I enquire what sort of cake would he like for his birthday. Thanks to all the inspirations given in CC, this is the best I could come out with a 3D carved cake (as I didn't own a football pan). Another Solar System cake was also baked to compliment this cake.

This cake was for a group baby shower at the home for teenage mothers where I work. Bottom layer is dulce de leche and top layer is chocolate. Buttercream icing with gumpaste stars, moon, and baby. My first time ever working with gumpaste! I think I'm addicted and easy :) Thanks to Sandralita which is where I got the inspiration for the sleeping baby and moon.

I did this one last year for my cake decorating class. The pumpkins and tombstones are made of marzipan. I'm still new to decorating, and know it could be smoother, but hope you like it.

This is a half sheet cake iced in buttercream with MMF decorations. I saw diane's cake like this for a boy and loved it so much that I couldn't wait to do a shower cake to use the idea. Thanks for the inspiration. I dusted the baby blanket with luster dust and sprinkled the border with cake sparkles.

NFSC with Rolled Buttercream. This is the first time I have used Rolled Buttercream. I think I like to work with MMF better. The RB was just too greasy.

Two 10” Layers of Classic Yelow Cake Filled with and Smothered in Buttery Vanilla Buttercream Sun and Moon are created with Homemade Marshmallow Fondant. I used a toothpick to make the craters and lines in the MMF for a distressed or antique look. I used MMF pieces to outline the facial aspects. I love Luster Dust!!

Used the chocolate marshmallows to create the MMF, it tasted so good! And the color turned out amazing. Really happy with the MMF, but not as much with the FBCT. My brother loved the cake, brought it to him at work, 15 minutes later not a crumb left!

Cake requested by customer to match nursery theme... I used a picture she sent me as a model for the characters which explains the colors and etc... (There are probably cuter ones online but this is the style of characters they wanted). I drew the characters on with food marker on the bottom... cut the top figures out of fondant and used painting/food marker to decorate. The stars on top are painted silver and then decorated in disco dust.

This was my first attempt at the NFSC with Antonia74's icing. I used the 2tsp of vanilla but also added 2tsp of Cake & Cookie emulsion and mini choc chips. These were sooo good. Thank you to everyone that had posts about these and especially Antonia74 and marinersfan for submitting their recipes.
