Scratch White Cake with all buttercream. I used the scroll templates. Made for my 2 year old's teacher at school for her birthday. I didn't really have time to be very imaginative.

This was requested instead of a large wedding cake. I made 60 of them. They are yellow cake with strawberry preserves and a whipped icing recipe I learned where I work... it is very soft but smooths real nice. I used a putty knife to smooth, I love that tool! The monograms are a yellowish royal painted gold. The cake was cut using a 3.5" cutter and then iced, and the box is 5" around.

This story was SO romantic! Get this....the bottom tier is artificial so that I could hollow it out (like a bagel) and place a chunk of the actual wedding cake from the bride's parent's inside it! How cool is that?? They gave me the wedge of 35 year-old fruitcake, which I wrapped well in a few layers of Saran wrap, then carved out a wedge in the styrofoam cake dummy, fit it inside and then iced as usual with fondant. symbolizes their marriage built upon the strength of the parents' marriage.

6", 8" and 10"X 3" pans used. Wilton initial, silk flowers with ivory ribbon and gold rope as a border. Thanks to my DH for the smooth look...he's the expert at home and loves the Viva towel method (yet to try the Melvira method). A couple of people asked if this was a fake cake because it looked so perfect. Thanks for looking!

Bride brought a picture in, I really like this design. Simple, yet elegant. I liked the monogram on top too...She wanted large borders, but I think that small ones would look good next time.

Buttercream icing, with piped chocolate ganache decor. I piped the N directly on the cake, and used fresh roses on top.

This is a sour almond cake with pineapple filling that my new daughter-in-law wanted for her wedding. I don't know who the design belongs to I copied it from a picture she gave me.

This is a sour almond cake with pineapple filling and bc icing. This is a copy of a picture that my new daughter-in-law wanted for her wedding. Also the recipe that I used for the sour almond cake came from this site. Cake Central. Love that recipe.

This cake is my first wedding/anniversary cake. The couple I made it for was celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary but never had a wedding cake so their daughter asked me to create a wedding cake for them. The only specification she had was that the cake was supported by glass champagne glasses like hers was. It was a little bit of a challenge because the cake I was modeling after did not have a cake plate showing and they did not want a cake plate under the fondant.

This is my first wedding cake! A little embarrassed about the lumpy top tier and the scrolls, but all in all i'm pretty happy with it...I received a lot of compliments on the taste, so that made all the hard work and stress worth it... (i even got asked to do another wedding!:) -top & second tier white cake w/raspberry and cream cheese filling, bottom lemon/lemon filling- 6,8,&10 inch for a small wedding at home...

6",8",10",12",14" squares. Iced in buttercream with scrolls piped on and silk ribbon attached. Fondant and gumpaste monogram painted with luster dust. Delivered in a horrible rainstorm. Between this and the grooms cake (which no way am I posting except maybe in the "disasters" forum) I almost wanted to quit decorating.

Edited to add: I welcome any constructive criticism. Really!

This was the cake my mother did for my daughter 6th birthday. Wait I know this is way too much for a six year old, I agree. But her birthday is Dec. 14th. And I realized this year, the poor child has never really had a "real" birthday party. So this year Mommy & Daddy threw her a big party with Princesses and Knights and a dragon and jousting and everything, so we had to have the cake to match. I think ths is my mom's best cake! The castle is stacked styrofoam and alot nicer than the Wilton castle.

I used 10", 8" and 6" square pans, 3" high. Covered in fondant with fondant bow and ribbons. The "D" is a discontinued Wilton item that is wooden, so I added gems.
