This was my go at a mod mom cake. I changed it up a bit from squares and circles to stripes and flowers. I had a few problems with bubbles under my fondant on the top cake, but all in all it went ok. All fondant, gumpaste.
thanks for looking.

I was asked to make a birthday cake for a friend's mother. He was convinced I was "qualified" after completing Wilton course I. He wanted it red, white, and blue....bright!! I was scared it was going to look more patriotic than motherly. But I was surprised, the colors didn't look bad at all.

I finally got asked to do one of these! I have been loving everyone else's on the site. You all just inspire me!! Well, this is a half sheet choc/vanilla. I used regular BC to decorate with. Got a lot of fans with this, too! Hope to get more in the future. Just wish that I was able to do this all the time. I am really out of practice. But I think the pace will pick up after this one.

Made this one for my Mom's 51st Birthday! I bumped it later, and it got a little messy, but I fixed it as best I could at the last minute and it was ok. Lucky for me, I took this photo before that happened!

This is my graduation cake from Wilton Course I!! It coincided with my birthday so I made it for me. I am pleased with how most of my buttercream roses turned out, I think it is definitely a practice makes perfect art though! I'm really looking forward to learning lots of flowers during course 2!

Made on February 26, 2008.

I made this doozy for my Mother's 60th Birthday this week. You know it looked so much nicer in person. I really need to work on my piping skills though....as you can see, after the two hour ride in the car it was falling apart....It was quite fun to make though.

I wanted to practice for a cake order I have coming up for a baby shower and I purchased and used Aine2's wonderful tutorial and just tweaked her to be a pregnant momma...1st try at a human figure and I think she turned out pretty cute. (she's all gum paste or gum paste/fondant) Any feedback would be great! Thanks!

The cake was half white and half chocolate. It must have shifted and settled during transport as it is a little crooked.

Thanks to ladyonzlake for design inspiration

This is a jumbo size cupcake with tip 4 and 45 basketweave. Just some easy drop flowers on the top. The wire is florist wire wrapped with ribbon. I used some plastic lollipop sticks (they have a hollow center) cut to size to
put the florist wire in.

My mom is turning 60 in June and I've been blessed with the honor of making her swimming pool cake. I wanted her diving into the pool with 60 on her butt. (gotta have some fun) This is my 2nd attempt at a fondant/gum paste figure. The legs were difficult as they are formed around wire so she doesn't go head first into the cake. If anyone can let me know how to form around wire and get rid of creases please pm me! My dh helped me get a nice round belly and I had a blast dressing her. Thanks for looking!!!
