This was a birthday gift for a co-worker who is like my brother. He loves to sleep, wishes he had that money, like to play Sudoku, likes to fish, and dresses well. He loved the thought and detail that went into this cake.

This is the Valentine's cake I made for my Husband. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate and peanut butter modeling clay. His favorite flavors. I used mini pans to make this cake. It was my first attempt with modeling clay.

I made this cake for my husband who just graduated from OU Law school. The crest for the school has a large owl in the center, the color for law is purple and during the graduation they are hooded so that is how the owl inspired me and all the other components of the cake. EVERYTHING was done in modeling chocolate. The owl was made by carving a stryofoam ball as well as his head and then it was covered in modeling chocolate.

Design from Boween!! My brother's 65th birthday (he asked for Whimsy-I wanted to do roses). First time modeling fondant. I had a tough time with "the man". It looks like he is drowning, not relaxing! I tried to make him look like he was singing in the tub....Buttercream "tub and water", fondant accents.

Friends baby boy 1st birthday cake. I forgot I was supposed to make it small and I made it a little larger. We could've had this one at work instead of Costco cake. I borrowed the idea from Boween, so thanks! Buttercream icing with painted modeling chocolate accents.

I made this cake for my dad's birthday. He is a beaver trapper and I thought this would be so cute. Beavers are made of modeling chocolate. Got my inspiration from the gallery from cakes by ISA and beachcakes.

Here's a closeup of the polar bears. I had a lot of fun making them and thought they turned out really cute.

Made this for one of my dance team girls who celebrated her birthday during competition this weekend. Top and bottom were strawberry and middle was yellow with a touch of orange flavor. Buttercream icing and fondant flowers. Everything edible except for the toadstools and topper base. It was fun to make - my first time modeling fondant and this is a very scaled down interpretation of an amazing cake I saw - can't remember the website now :(

I made this cake for my husband's birthday, his favorite candy. It is Chocolate Cake with a ganache frosting/crumb coat. The cake was covered entirely out of modeling chocolate, which was interesting. The writing was all done by an edible image.

This cake was a 15cm and 20cm caramel mud cake covered in caramel frosting and fondant icing. The lilies and filler flowers were made from modeling paste. This was probably my 3rd or 4th cake.

I got a request for a Tiffany Blue and Chocolate brown baby shower cake and this is what I came up with. I actually got the idea from Colette Peters Wedding Cakes " Chocolate Fantasia" cake. It didn't look much like a baby shower cake, but they wanted the theme to look like a sophisticated tea party. I think it came out well. The cake is covered in buttercream, with modeling chocolate accents.

50th Birthday Party cake for my best friends parents. Their 50th birthday are only 2 weeks apart from each others so their daughters threw them a suprise party. Fondant/gumpaste figurines of the parents sliding into the graveyard. It was my first time making figurines. Everything is fondant/gumpaste.

I made this for my birthday! No one wanted to make me a cake, they threw me a party but refused to make a cake! Anyway, bottom two 8 inches are white cake with black raspberry filling (YUMMMMM), vanilla buttercream. The top two 6 inch cakes are key lime with vanilla buttercream filling and frosting. Modeling chocolate cherry blossom branch and gum paste blossoms (dusted with rose colored luster dust). The key lime cake was the hit of the party!

Made for my nephew - all decorations are gum paste/fondant except for the tree, which is modeling chocolate. Cake is three layers, white with strawberries and vanilla bc. The theme of his party was "kite flying" so I tried to incorporate that as best I could!

My SIL and I made this for her son's birthday. He loves to camp, and we
couldn't think of any other theme for his cake, so this is what we made.

Well, here it is. This cake had so many new elements for me. I just wanted to challenge myself and see if I could do it. Some of my flowers turned out really great...some of them, not so great. =-> I left corn starch on some of my fondant so that was kind of a newbie thing to do. The baby is modeling chocolate and it's my first time working with that medium. (Don't I sound like an artist instead of a cake maker? ;-P ) Anyway, it was a huge hit and the whole party loved it. Yay!
This is the front.

I made this cake for my niece's 11th birthday. Tinkerbell is made from modeling chocolate. The present she is sitting on is a dummy, but all other layers are white with strawberry filling, iced in IMBC, covered in MMF. All other accents are gumpaste. Thanks for looking!

I did this for my boss when I told him I was leaving to do cake stuff full time! The figures on the top are MMF. There is a fire hydrant (which is crooked on purpose, more cartoony), a kong chew toy, a dog bowl with food, and a bone made out of white chocolate. Everyone liked it and they weren't to mad that I was leaving, but only because I promised to bring them sweets!

I made this for my grandson who turned 3 yesterday. He's totally into Toy Story, especially Woody and Buzz. The bed, toy box and night stand are cake covered in fondant. Everything but the toys is made from either fondant or gumpaste.

This was made for my BF's graduation. A 12" & 8" Strawberry Crunch with actual cheesecake filling...I wasn't sure how it would work, but it tasted great. Graduation cap was a mini wondermold covered in fondant, and a fondant diploma. Blue flowers were fondant, yellow was modeling chocolate with gold luster dust.

This is my first attempt at figure modeling and at cake carving. I need to find a denser cake, you can see in some of the pictures that the cake got weighed down and buckeled some of the planks. It is a vanilla caramel cake with vanilla caramel buttercream and either chocolate or vanilla caramel fondant. Yeah, ended up being a little overdone with the flavoring. For a baby shower I had less than a week's notice of, but everyone loved it!

I've tried doing roses with other modeling mediums and have usually given up before the thing was finished. This is my first success!! I love white chocolate modeling paste. Its soooo easy to work with.

Fondant covered 2 layer cake with fondant cut-out flowers on the side and grass on the bottom. All decoration on the cake are made with MMF except for the Happy Birthday sign. There are four bears, cookies, plates, cups, jug, ladybugs, snails, tree stump, birthday cake, bushes, picnic basket and blanket (red is done with edible marker). This was my second time molding figures and my first with MMF. It was fun and took a lot of time. The family really loved it and that makes the time worthwhile.

This was hard!! I made it for my newphew's 14th birthday. Banana cake covered in MMF. Antlers were modeling chocolate painted with candy melts. Carving the cake was easy, Thank you SOOOO Much to Ellantehalima for the directions!! But icing it and covering it in 2 different layers of fondant was much harder than i expected it to be. Sometimes, i think my eyes are larger than my ability!
