Edible image made from antique postcard graphic. Candy melt stars. Cake was dark chocolate madw with strong coffee as the liquid. Vanilla/almond whipped buttercream icing. This is for a cookout this evening. Hope it's cooled off enough outside that I get there with it intact!

This cake was two layers thick, one layer choco and the other french vanilla. It is a half sheet cake made with bc. This was made for a potluck at work on Memorial Day but I think it would work for 4th of July or Patriot Day also.

This cake was done for our local high school who had a memorial for 2 football players who died in a drowning accident earlier this year. There was a large memorial with 100 people prior to the graduation. The rainbow is painted onto the buttercream with watered down food color.

This was made for memorial day I tried to make tassles out of buttercream and it didn't work. This was a very interesting cake to make because I had 3 neices and a nephew hanging over my shoulder wanting to eat the frosting and giving advice.LOL
I made the pattern for the flag myself but I got the Idea for the cake from a book

I was asked to do this cake for a memorial get-together in remembrance of the client's sister. She drew out the design she wanted on the cake, which she said is a tattoo (minus the halo) that she, her sister and her brother all have. The cake is Dark Chocolate Fudge with buttercream icing.

I made this for my grandfather-in-law's B-day. He continuously checked on the cake while I was decorating and wanted me to add more and more to it. It ended up being a Memorial day cake as well!!

This cake was made in the Wilton 2 mix book pan (with 2 1/2 doctored mixes). The grass was done with Tip 233, and the leaves were done with 352.

The cake was for my DH's step-father's memorial service. The quote was requested by my MIL. (In the last days, it was something he said to her, when asked what he was dreaming about.) DH's step-father was a large man, who nobody could really picture tiptoeing anywhere.

This was my first cake using fondant. It is a yellow cake with buttercream and fondant. I painted the stripes and the blue background for the stars. The stars are fondant that I cut out with a cookie cutter.

This cake was baked for the memorial service for my stepsister who died tragically from cancer, aged just 32. The J was made from fruit cake with the rest in madeira to give a choice of cake. Josephine had a memorial statue showing 2 ducks which I have tried to recreate. She also loved puffins and was very musical, hence all the various items on the cake.

This is in memory of somebody who had died. This was 24 cupcakes. I frosted it in white and then added some blue to the top of the frosted cake and blended the blue in with my spatula. The scroll is gum paste that I made the day before. The words are written in edible marker. The flowers are forget-me-nots (pun intended) made of royal icing.

I made this cake for memorial day this weekend (and a celebration of me and my hubby's bdays) :) Outside is all fondant...MMF that is...the red & blue gave me troubles rolling out and the blue was a nightmare to cover that cake with but thank goodness for BIG stars to cover it all LOL The top are royal icing flowers on covered florist wires.

I made this cake for a Memorial day BBQ. I guess I should have taken a pic right after I finished sat in the sun and melted pretty badly. It looked much better before, I promise! :-) The seeds are upside down chocolate chips.

For my son's Memorial Day Party. 12in. cake, big hit with everyone, I
did not attend, but was told there wasn't a crumb left, they really liked
the brownie patty (done with brownie and bc and smooshed together
like you would a cake ball) they even like the mmf veggies!

Made for a celebration of life memorial for a friend who passed away last month. He was Buddhist and I had to do a search for meaningful symbols. The script is a mantra or prayer of compassion, conch shell spreads the enlightenment of Buddha to the world, golden fish liberation of spirit, white Lotus purity of mind. Gumpaste banner with edible images.
