I made a Strawberry Margarita cake with strawberry buttercream icing, but instead of using milk or water in the icing, I used tequila and triple sec. I used a Wonder-mold pan to make it the shape of the top of a glass and put clear cake flakes over entire cake to make it look like it was chilled. I also took sugar sprinkles and put them on the rim of the "glass" to look like the salt & plastic fish fins sticking out of the sides for the Jimmy Buffet song, "Fins to the left, Fins to the right"

Here is the finished cake. I posted a pic of just the parrot earlier. The cake is a strawberry margaita cake and strawberry buttercream (both cake and icing had margarita mix and Jose Cuervo). Stir stick is a pretzel rod with fondant palms. Sand is crushed Nilla wafers, jelly bean "rocks", pop tops are fondant (get it? "Stepped on a pop top and blew out my flip-flop"), cheeseburger and sea shells are fondant, cake sparkles on rim for the salt and a handful of dragees for color.

This one was really fun to make. The tray is an 12in round cake covered in fondant painted to look like wood. The salt shaker, lime slices and receipt are gumpaste, painted with luster and petal dusts. The margarita glass is 3 5in round cakes wrapped in fondant. The salted rim was crushed white lifesavers stuck on with piping gel. The icubes were plain geletin squares. The best part is that I stuck a double shot glass in the middle of the glass, it acted as support and at the party we (finshed below)

I made this cake for a 'Ladies Night' with my co-workers. We all got together Saturday night and had a good ole time! ;0) It's an 11X15" funfetti cake with buttercream icing. The glass is filled in with piping gel and the 'salt' is sanding sugar. Thanks for looking! ~Sharon

These two were a recreation of a previous cake I posted. Client only wanted one chocolate and one white cake, but I colored the BC to look like a both a regular and a strawberry margarita. Fondant parrot, palm leaves, and coke bottle caps (guest of honor retired from Coca Cola), nilla wafer sand, chocolate rocks and shells and some jelly bean stones and dragees, sparkling sugar for the "salt" and let's not forget the fondant "Cheeseburger in Paradise"!!!

Thanks to Wrightsweet for the help on this. I couldn't find as good of a glass but I have gotten them in everything. So it just needs the lime. I tried making it look like a frozen marg. I wasn't sure if I could pull off one on the rocks. ;-) The stem was hollow so I filled it with skiddles for some color and the cake is white with a marg filling.

cookies made for a fiesta-themed party. The mexican tile cookies were inspired by some of the cakes seen on this website. I iced sugar cookies with white icing and then drew the design with food color markers.

This is another cake (heathermari) wanted me to do for her SIL who was visiting with her mom. She likes frogs and (heather)wanted me to include a margarita glass. This was my first time making a frog and I really do need to take sculpting class. I appreciate all the help I got from my cc family with the frogs. I hope she likes it.

I made this for a Wedding Shower at work. They called me at 3:00 today and asked for a cake, so it was last minute. The shower is being held at a local Mexican restaurant and they are going somewhere tropical to get married so what better than a cool drink?!

This was inspired by CustomCakesbySharon - I love her margarita cake! This is for the teachers at my children's school. Used piping gel over BC to give it that "glassy" look. It's hard to see in the picture, but there are cake sparkles around the edge of the glass to look like salt. RI flowers. Thanks for looking!
