Here's my poor copy of Boween's purse cake for my daughter's 6th birthday party tomorrow. 9x13 yellow cake and 6" round chocolate cake for purse. Filled with not quite twinkie icing, covered in buttercream with fondant and molded chocolate accents.

Makeup Bag cake made for my Mother for Mother's Day last year. It has a fondant lip gloss, nail polish, makeup brush, and eye shadows. I used marbelized fondant for the zipper area and also painted it with luster dust for a shine.

This one was fun, but nerve racking, once i got the make up bag on there, it looked really bad, and trying to cover it in fondant wasnt easy either. I dont think ill want to do it again. Thank goodness for all the little make up accessories, alot of the are strategically placed so that you cant see the mistakes! But in the end , i like how it turned out.

Made for my hair stylist who also hosts parties for little girls where she fixes their hair and does makeup and nails. My favorite is the lip-gloss compact. My four year old gave me the idea. Lipstick tube and nail polish bottles are hand-made cutters.

Front view of Make up bag cake. Many thanks to Nati for her tutorial. The MMF was impossible to work with, luckily you can't see the back! Everyone loved the cake

My friend Mo's daughter is having her sweet 16 party today with all her friends. I have the honor of doing her cake. She has recently discovered MAC makeup (her aunt sells it and her mom wears it) and has also discovered the wow factor of high heels. I incorporated these factors into designing her cake. Everything is edible except the makeup... it's real MAC. The shoe is solid chocolate with MMF and silver luster dust detail work and the makeup bag is cake covered with MMF and imprinted with a quilting mat, also painted with luster dust detail work. The White icing on the base cake is buttercream. SWEET 16 BRE!!!!

This was all made out of fondant and I stuck real makeup so it looked like it fell out of the bag. My little cousin loved it. I painted the flowers with watered down food coloring.

The 11 year-old birhtday girl was having a "glamour" party. One layer of cake is chocolate, the other is vanilla. The nail polish, eye shadow, and lipstick are all fondant. The polish "spills" are buttercream. This was a fun one to do, but I can think of a lot I'd do differently next time.

Another picture of the gothic doll cake that I made and the matching M-A-C eyeshadow cake. I decided to do that because I was making the doll cake for my sister and she knew it was going to be a doll so I wanted something else that would be a total suprise. These were some of my first cakes but still my faves. The eyeshadow pan was colored with luster dust and i tried to make the markings for the case and lid but hard to see in the pic.

I hope this is the correct category -- Carved basket covered with fondant -- filled with chocolate bottles of MK products -- I was going thru my old pictures and found this one -- it was for a going away party for one of my team members -- she left to join MK -- the funny thing -- people didn't realize it was a cake for the longest -- from a distance -- still ranks as one of my favorite!

For a 7 year old's birthday party at a kid's salon. Inspired by many others on this site who have done something similar... thanks to all of you! Some of the makeup is molded chocolate, some is sculpted fondant. Cake is covered in fondant, fondant accents as well.

I finally had an opportunity to try a purse cake. I really liked doing this, and the candy accessories were so easy! I really struggled with the gumpaste handle for some reason, so the handle didn't turn out as I had hoped it would. But, the customer's daugher loved it - she loves bright colors, polka dots and her Ipod, so I think I covered all those with this cake!

These cakes were for a 13th birthday party. All of the cakes are carved and then filled with chocolate ganache mousse. Each cake is covered in fondant and then has some fondant decorations. The N stands for the birthday girls name (Nicole). I made the base by hot glueing cardboard together so that the cakes can stand up and used black satin to cover the cardboard.
