This was my son's first birthday cake. The entire cake was "smashed" on one side to look like he had crawled up it to reach his smash cake (the top tier). Each tier was made for a favorite bedtime book: The bottom is Goodnight Moon with lines from the book printed and illustrated around the tier. The next is "I Love You Through and Through" again with the main line printed and the teddy bear from the book. The final tier was "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish".

Five hexagon cakes ... covered in fondant, spinkled with edible glitter, with fondant plaques with silver luster dust Chinese characters. Royal icing flowers edged with silver luster dust. Fun but time consuming!

All BC. Chocolate chocolate chip cake. My favorite part of this cake was the board underneath. Those are pics of the bride and groom turned black & white mounted under a thin piece of glass.

Anniversary cake I made for me and my DH. Inspired by one of Collette's cakes although nowhere near her standard. I was really happy with how it turned out.

This is a double heart cake - I was planning on doing the WASC cake, but discovered I didn't have any white cake I used a Golden Vanilla cake mix instead. Although the cake is a single layer, I torted it, and used a raspberry mousse as the filling. I used Reenies crusting buttercream (from the cc recipe section...crusted great- even w/ the new crisco...just make sure to use 2lb of confectioners sugar, if you use the recipe)

Well, I am definitely happier with this one than my last one. But wish I'd done the care bear as a transfer. :( Oh well. I know my customer will like it. It's a white 9X13 all in butter cream.

i made this one for my sister's wedding. She was having a theme wedding but wanted a bit of the irish heritage of the groom added into the cake. The bottom layer was 6" tall ginger cake and the other layers were 5" tall decadent chocolate. All iced in butterscotch flavored buttercream and covered in homemade fondant. Fondant was not cooperating as it was a modified recipe using agar-agar instead of knox gelatin. It definately made a difference in workability and wasn't as smooth as I would have liked.

I took some liberties with the book cover, but it was really fun to make. I did a free hand drawing of the bunnies first and handpainted them after. I was pleased with how it turned out.

I made 45 of these for a friend. Her son's Boy Scout Troop was having a guest speaker come to teach the boys some sign language and discuss Deaf Education.

This was actually not for an actual wedding but entered into the fair for the wedding cake contest. It took first place and I got two orders for this exact cake for next year! Well worth it!

THis is my first wedding cake that I did & delivered 2 1/2 hours away. THe sizes are 12, 10, 8, & 6 cake is all red velvet w strawberries & cream filling & vanilla BC. The flowers are gumpaste luster dusted by another CCer that lives close, Thanks for the help & suppport Paige! The topper was a pain as it was 2 pieces and one was heavier that the other so the bride was trying to push over the groom. Make sure you can get the topper before the wedding to see how it will work for you or the cake.

This was my most favorite creation! The cake is covered in fondant and the decorations were made with royal icing. The peace signs were also made with royal icing, dried, then painted with color spray.

dummy cake I decorated for an elegant fondant class I took. 2 tiered heart shaped. 6" and 10" cakes. White fondant with ivory fondant accents. The word love is spelled out on tier. I had fun making this cake. I would have never thought to put these colors together. I like it though

The mom to be's nursery theme was John Lennon's Real Love...which is a group of animals he apparently drew. So that is what you see on the bottle itself. The cake is 10 inces wide by 35 inches long and weighed a TON! It was half chocolate and half wasc. Thanks for looking

I made a cake trying new recipes & ended up using the cake for my in-laws' anniversary. It's white wedding cake with strawberry filling & snow white buttercream (my very first attempt at BC). The top of the cake has a heart with their initials (like when you first fall in love) & all kinds of "love words." The sides has hearts with "28" written inside - that's how many years they were celebrating. It turned out pretty good & they loved it!
