Again, another cake for mom's co-workers. Since she teaches in a Christian school, I wanted to do a Christian cake with the lion and the lamb. It's supposed to be the Precious Moments lion and lamb, but they don't look like it. I guess I should have done a FBCT. Just tring something new!

This is an adaptation of Wilton's Amazing Amazon cake. Cake is a peaches and cream cake with vanilla bc filling and icing. Animals and leaves are fondant. Grass is bc. The animals were a bit of a pain to make but it was my first time making any type of figures and I'm happy with how they turned out. I'll post a pic of all the animals. The surface of each tier looks wavy in the photos but did not in person. I don't know why that happens.

Birthday cake, first paying customer since I've been back in Oz. Two teir, double layer, brownie cake with chocolate buttercream layers and covering. Flake's used as outer layer. Animals all hand made from fondant and or gumpaste. Very excited to do this cake as the animals were great fun to practice and do.
Huge thankyou to socake for this order as she was away on holiday and couldn't do it.

Decorated in all RI. I made these for a baby shower with a safari theme. The animals lack some character but I'm working on trying to give them more personality.

Borrowed the idea from Wilton catalog---used a 10" round and a 1/2 ball pan. All buttercream. Next time, I would use the layered pans as described in the original instructions, but didn't have them available and the customer didn't have a preference. Turned out very cute...would work for circus/zoo theme as well. Thanks for looking!

This cake was inspired by so many of the adorable Baby Einstein cakes posted here, but mostly a cake posted by jennyschultz11. Thank you Jenny! The picture insets are other characters that wrapped around the cake. All BC, characters done freehand on the cake.

I made this cake for my sister's baby shower. They are doing the baby boy's nursery with a safari theme, so I based the entire shower off that idea. The cake is filled with the absolutely scrumptious whipped chocolate ganache filling from this website, and covered in MMF. All the animals and the trees are made by hand out of chocolate clay; the grass and water are buttercream.

I made the lemurs & penguins from sugarpaste a couple of days earlier. The rest are cake. Melman (giraffe) actually collapsed twice when i was moving the cake (although i had secured the pillars to the cake board), so i gave up at the end and placed him on his tummy. I did manage to get this shot first. Its all a little messy...i used the satnd up lamb for Alex the lion's head & body, and the rest of it for Melman. Gloria (hippo) was the ball tin. Marty (zebra) was the train tin, shaven off here and there.

This is my first cake for someone other than my children. It is for my friend's son who is one. I just hope the cake survives tranport! The animals are made of fondant and I used two fake trees from a craft store but had a hard time fitting them in the picture! I got a lot of inspiration to many of the cakes on CC, so thank you all for sharing.

This is the first time I had to "sculpt" using a knife. All in BC. I got my inspiration from a lion that zatsdeb did with 2 cupcakes, and momof4luvscakes gave me some instructions on how to do a 3D dog cake. Thank you very much to those people!!!

This cake was made using the Wilton circus cat as an inspiration. I used half of the ball pan, and the flower pan. I bought the Wilton icing from a craft store and colored (saved a ton of time). Ice cream cone for hat.

This was for a set of twins turning three that were on a Lion kick inspired by Madagascar. The facial features are made of tootsie rolls and the party hat is a snowcone cup (I was out of ice cream cones).

I made this lemon Lion cake for my co-worker Leo :-) The design is from the Wilton 2007 yearbook ("Consider Him Tamed"). This was a really fun cake to make and my first experiment with MMF. So far I LOVE it! The mane, tail and writing are MMF and the rest is BC except for the M&M eyes.
