A true reflection of the bride's good taste, this oval shaped cake features a satin dressmaker's bow, modeled from sugar dough, and a matching sugar ribbon on each of the four tiers.

This is my first cake with fondant. I made a whole bunch of flowers but ended up only using the ones on the cake. She had cala lilies in her wedding bouquet.

I made this cake for my second marriage. My first wife died of cancer. I am most fortunate to have found someone as wonderful and loving! The inside ornament was a glass ornament of dolphins given as a gift, as dolphins mate for life. The flowers are candy clay calla lilies cut with fondant cutters.

This was done for a wedding shower. I used a 6inch and a 10inch cake...carrot with cream cheese filling. The lilies were made of royal icing. I used a impression mat to do the diagonal on the cake. Also made fondant pearls rolled in luster dust ahead of time. Thanks for looking. :)

This was my first stacked cake for my final of my last Wilton class. Blue fondant with a satin ribbon around each layer. Made the flowers with royal and the beads with fondant. Not too shabby for my 4th cake, right?

This was a practice cake I served at an outdoor dinner last summer. It was the first cake I ever "leveled." The calla lileis were fondant as described in Rose Levy Berenbaum's Cake Bible.

As the final practical for my Wedding Cake class I had to make a wedding cake. The cake is actually a dummy cake which is styrofoam. the cakes are covered in fondant and decorated with royal icing lace points and brushed embroidery. I made the calla lilys out of gumpaste and petal dusted the colors on. The board is also covered in fondant and crimped. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

This is my third wedding cake. I really liked the design idea that the bride decided on. The Cornelli Lace wasn't hard at all to do and now is one of my favorite techniques! I arranged the flowers as well. I'm not sure of my greater love, flowers or cake! Thanks for looking!

I had a bride who wanted to match a Ben-Israel cake she saw on tv. This is black buttercream with silk flowers. Bottom and top tiers are styrofoam. Note: Take and awl or screwdriver with you (and duct tape) if you need to insert flowers into Styrofoam. I think this cake is simply gorgeous.

Just playing around to see how to create the cascade for this cake. This cake is the back of a recycled dummy, from my magazine ad. The flowers are some of the ones I made for a wedding coming up in June. The bride chose just about every flower under the sun! Gumpaste casablanca lilies, calla lilies, tulips, lilacs, and stephanotis (not included in this photo) all in spring pastels. The wedding cake I'm making for her is going to be pale purple fondant and only 3 tiers, but 5 sprays of flowers.

This was my final cake for course III Wilton - I used the design for a 6 inch round in the course book but made it into a 2 tier design. Lilies are royal icing. If I made this cake again I would put the top layer directly on the bottom and add more lilies on the 10 inch cascading down. I would also figure out a way to make my lines straighter - this is what happens when you don't measure!

Oval Lemon Cake with Lemon Cream Cheese Filling and BC frosting. THANK YOU CC for the recipes!!! YOu are all awesome! The design is a mix from the Wilton books. These were the first Royal Icing flowers made outside of class. Out of 17 flowers I only had these 4 that did not break. My icing was too thick I think. I do have to say....Boy did my hand get a workout from all those dots! :-)

First off I have to admit this is a dummy cake. I was so close to saying no way when my sister in law asked me to do it, she said it could be fake if that would help! I didn't have a lot of time so that's what I did. I think it gave me the confidence to try new things though, I had never worked with fondant before and had no intention until then.

My pond cake for course III. Thank you for all the inspiration to all of you with pond cakes in the gallery. I really wanted to do something different. The water lilies and lily pads were a nice project. All gumpaste accents. Cattails are skewers with gumpaste. Even the rocks are gumpaste. My first time making and using MMF and it worked out great.

My first attempt at water lilies. Made from gumpaste. I used varying sized daisy cutters and brushed petals with non-toxic chalk for color variation.

Cake is duplicate of one I have seen on a website. Cannot recall which decorator.
Was easy enough, just time consuming. All decorations edible. Calla lilies are gumpaste. Cake covering is fondant. Bows, pearls are gumpaste.

This is the wedding cake to the Deer Groom's cake that I just posted.......It was a lot of fun to do, but the drive there was NOT FUN..........had to drive almost an hour, then cross over the levee to a cabin that sits on the Mississippi River. The couple loved both cakes......White chocolate cake with Pecan Praline, Cream Cheese, and Raspberry fillings and White Chocolate BC and Fondant.....The calla lilies are silk....

The rounds are 12, 9 and 5; the Bible is an 11x15x2 sheet w/a 'v' cut out of the middle to form the Bible. Iced in buttercream. Artificial flowers provided by the bride - all 6 callas and 4 roses! I had to add more silk & b'cream piped roses and even a few gp callas for this to look even somewhat decent:(

This cake is all buttercream except for the gumpaste lily's. The bride wanted a very plain, white cake, except for a garland of lily's & ivy sweeping down one side... however, it was 117 degrees that day! So, I didn't completely fill-in with lily's, incase they started slinking down, which she was fine with. So, really scary delivering & assembling in that heat, I had to assemble in an office with AC & then my husband & brother had to carry it about 20 yards! But it all worked-out great! Thanks for looking!
