This has certainly been a fun process! Will have to do it again!!!!

This is the result of my first BCT. It needs a bit of improvement; there were some areas where I could have distributred the bc a bit better, but I am happy overall. Best of all my son loves it :) I have always thought that even w/many an imperfection, baking/decorating for my kiddos is worth it!

Will post more views later...gotta run to the party!

It took me forever to paint the sky and the stars (I have to give some credit to my dear boyfriend who helped me paint them) but the overall result was great. It's a vanilla cake with dulce de leche filling.

My first cake! A cupcake cake iced with buttercream and smoothed with a Viva papertowel. I did a frozen buttercream transfer for Buzz Lightyear. It's for my daughter's pre-K class. She's very happy with it.

Buttercream & airbrush. I cut out the shape of the picture from card board and blocked the area that isn't black. After spraying black, I used a projector to draw buzz and then added his coloring. This technique is great for doing neon colors to really make them pop!

This was the cake I made for my son's third birthday! We had an outer space theme. I had his picture on it in his astronaut Halloween outfit. (I had to cut it out due to site regulations, but it was adorable!)

Buttercream icing with fondnat accents. The spotted effect was acheived by using a toothbrush and dipping it into white icing color then flicking it on the cake. I then did the toothbrush thing with silver luster dust. Buzz is fondant.

I found out from these photos that the mom had added the "4" candle after I delivered the cake...which, to me, wasn't necessary...but, hey, it's her cake! The best part was Michael was *thrilled*!

Here is my first cupcake cake. It was for my son and is of the Space Ranger emblem found on the sleeve of Buzz Lightyear's uniform. My son is a HUGE Toy Story fan and loved the cake. Emblem was free handed with bc icing.

This cake was for a Buzz Lightyear party for a 2 year old. There was a large color flow image of Buzz for the top of the cake but I forgot to take a picture once it was on. The icing would not smooth for me no matter what - I think it's time to explore some new icing recipes. Happily, the top was hidden with the color flow image.

These were for the kids - the cake was for the grown-ups. They looked great on the cupcake stand, not so fun just in the pan.

This is a cake I made for my son's 4th birthday. The space ship is silver white cake (my mom made this for my 4th bday) with buttercream icing and the moon and "stars" are chocolate cake with buttercream icing! This was a fun cake to do. Tomorrow I will put 4 orange candles at the bottom of the space ship to look like flames!

My FIRST cake for my son's 1st birthday. I got the figurines from ebay and tried to design similar to the picture on figurine instructions. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

This is an all buttercream design. The Buzz Lightyear is carved from a sheet cake and placed on top of a larger sheet cake. The Buzz Lightyear was then freehanded onto the cake.

They say imitation is the sincerist form of flattery, so I am really flattering lauracox79. I loved her cake, so I copied it for a friend's little boy. I think it turned out pretty well, except for the little mishap the birthday boy had with a crater. I fixed it before it when to the table, but not before my friend snapped this picture

This was a 1/2 sheet, 2 layer chocolate w/ strawberry mousse & fresh strawberry filling. The two little green ovals were there to mark where the Buzz Lightyear toy would be placed. (I don't have the pic yet with the Buzz toy on it!)

My grandson wanted buzz and woody for his birthday. I decided to do Andys floor and bed on a sheet cake. Then I did a three tier for the rest of the toy story characters.
