This cake was done for a friend who was moving. It was designed after the lighthouse on Fort Monroe, VA but came out a bit short and crooked. It was fun to make and she loved it.

I did this for my Dad's birthday. It's one of his favorite lighthouses. It's white cake with buttercream except for the rooftops which are fondant and the rocks which are chocolate.

Brown sugar sand...the lighthouse is all cake...wrapped in Fruit by the Foot LOL...I made the top from graham crackers and melted chocolate. He loved it! The shells are molded chocolates and I wrote the message out in chocolate and froze to set so that it would hold up on top of the "sand".

Everything is made from fondant. The seashells are modeled with push-molds and some are dusted with luster dust. The sand is ground bisquite. Lighthouse base is a sugar-mold, covered with fondant. Pearls are dusted with pearl luster dust and the fishes with light green luster dust.

This is a birthday cake I made for my mom. It is butter cake with Raspberry & Peach filling. The bottom layer has a buttercream filling. I was totally inspired by A cake by Mac. Thank you so much for the inspiration! There were many things I would have liked to have done better, but I learn something with every cake I to get the fondant to stick to the cake board, add corn syrup to do the string work. Oh well, next time! Thanks for looking!

Lighthouse cake is carved and done in buttercream with fondant accents, the rest of the cake are dummies in fondant with chocolate shells, edible image with the couples names. This goes with the smaller cake I have posted with seashells that served as the centerpieces for each table at the wedding, so this did not have to be a real cake.

12" orange cake with raspberry filling. All buttercream icing. The shells are white candy melts, colored and dusted with pearl dust. I used the "stained glass" method that CC has been advertising at the top of the page. It's a really fun and creative way to do a design. I was also told that the orange/raspberry combo was VERY yummy.

gumpaste, pearl luster dusted seashells. Gumpaste lighthouse formed over styrofoam cone. Then I made a cone about same size out of rice krispies treats and placed the dried gumpaste cone shell over the rice krispy treat cone. I frosted the rice krispy cone with some royal icing to get best fit. Did this for structural stability of lighthouse. Seagulls on logs.

Designed for a couple’s 10 year anniversary. The gentleman proposed to his wife at this lighthouse. Three oval layers of devil’s food cake. 50/50 gumpaste and Pettinice fondant lighthouse. Pure Pettinice rocks and greenery. Your honest critique would be highly appreciated!!

This is for one of DH's coworkers, who likes lighthouses and is soon retiring. Fondant lighthouse. Candy letters, fish and starfish -- made from candy melts. Buttercream icing, choc cake, and cookies and cream filling. I hope the recipient likes it. Thanks for looking.

This is a lighthouse cake I made, thanks to inspiration from Cake Central! It's my version of creamsicle flavored cake/filling/frosting, and the lighthouse is made out of rice krispie treats and covered in marshmallow fondant.

This was the top of my cupcake tower from a bridal expo I did this past weekend. I hired my SIL to paint for me. She did an excellent job. I wish I had a pic of the entire display! Pics were taken but didn't come out. Cake is covered in fondant and painted with gel americolor.

Lighthouse and base are gumpaste and fondant over styro. Seashells are mmf dusted with gold and pearl luster dusts. The lighthouse "stucco" look , wave and birds were inspired by Tanyacakes. Thanks to Doug for sending the template for the railing - unfortuntately, it didn't have enough time to dry and I improvised.

The Christian school wanted an inspirational cookie bouquet for their silent auction. The lighthouses are 6 inch cookies, so it's the biggest bouquet I've ever done. This picture was taken before I tissue papered and bagged everything, so the stems look naked -- sorry.

This was for a woman's "Walk to Emmaus" weekend. I had many mistakes but am still happy with my first attempt on such limited time. I had to deliver it on Thursday but it wasn't needed til Saturday. The red bled through terribly on the white. Next time I'll use fondant for the white areas. Thanks so much to Mac for her help!

This cake I made for my nephew and his classmates. Today they have produced the Norwegian play "People and robbers in Cardamom Town". My nephew played the elefant and therefore I made the cake with the animals of Cardamom Town.
It is a chocolatecake covered with sugarpaste and marcipan. Figures in sugar dough.

I made 3 of these cakes for Mother's Day this year. All 3 love the beach and I thought that it could represent a mother's love being a lighthouse! It was my first time using the candy melt molds! Thanks for looking!
