This was a "thank you" cake for my aunt and uncle for helping us out in so many ways. They both love riding motorcycles, so I thought they would enjoy this! On the back of the jacket, I made the Harley Davidson "shield" with wings and instead of writing Harley Davidson in it, I wrote "Debbie and Doug Forever" It looked SOOO cool, but the pictures of it came out really fuzzy. I'm so bummed. Made with chocolate MMF and mocha buttercream underneath.

Butter pecan cake, covered in maple buttercream and chocolate MMF. I used 2, 10 inch pans, stacked together covered in MMF. The shirt is BC, the jacket is cut out of mmf, and shaped . My 1st. try at a FBCT, kind of blurry, but the patch was so small it was very hard to do, but not to bad. Got this idea from Pyxydust(I think I spelled it right). Thanks for all of the info.

The groom's mother comissioned this cake! She wanted it to match the invitation to the lingerie-themed bridal shower. The bustier and whip were made out of "chocolate leather".

Buttercream icing and fondant accents. I let the fondant pieces dry on a cookie sheet before adding them to the cake, but that was a mistake. I should have made the fondant pieces and added them right away. I used a cobblestone texture mat to make the crocodile texture in the buttercream. I dipped the impression mat in watered down brown food color before pressing it onto the cake. That really added to the texture, I think. Crumpled parchment rolled over fondant makes a great leather texture.

Thank you to others on this site for inspiration on my saddle cake. I would have done a few things differently, but overall, it came out pretty good.

Thanks to the other members, who gave me the idea for this jacket, my customer saw one like it and had to have it. It was my very first fondant covered cake, and it was so much fun to do . The "Harley Davidson" is a chocolate transfer, the patches say "Happy Birthday" and "Biker Chic".

The cowboy hat is covered in fondant and the bottom cake is frosted in buttercream. The cowboy boot, leather belt, and buckle are hand molded out of fondant, then painted with food coloring. The buckle has an impression of stars and dots, then painted with bronze luster dust. Everything was made the size to "fit" the birthday boy.

This is the Louis Vitton Speedy 25 bag with a few minor alterations! The Epi leather was quite time consuming to replicate. Accents in fondant/gumpaste mix..

My second sold cake. Not too happy with this and got caught making too many at once. I will probably give her back the $30 I charged her. But it's a WASC with the Internat'l Delight White Choc. Raspberry and a raspberry filling. Covered in Decorator's BC and orange-flavored MMF. Started out as 8" square before cutting it down a bit.

This is the cake I made for a recent wedding shower. Kate collects western decor, so that was the theme of the shower. The branding iron on top is for Ron and Kate.

I've wanted to make this cake ever since seeing the varsity jacket in the book The Sheetcake Way. I did this in a rush using precolored fondant which was really dry. Should have worked it more. It really did look better in person. My husband got a laugh out of it which was all that matters. That's an angel on the shoulder. Thanks for looking now go make a better one when you have more time.

I made this cake for my husband's 30th birthday. It is a replica of his favourite hat. It is a double layer chocolate cake, carved to shape and then covered with fondant. I then hand etched and handpainted the whole thing.

My first attempt with fondant and I loved working with it! Biker jacket cake idea was in my head first, but then I found 2 examples on here of people that had actually done the jacket cake--thanks so much!!! Fondant flames over BC icing on bottom cake. Painted nu-silver on zipper, buckle and snaps. Made for a surprise 50th birthday party with Wild Hogs theme.

This is my very first cowboy hat! I had so much fun making this cake, I can't wait to do another. The brim is made from gumpaste and fondant (2:1 ration), lightly colored brown, then rubbed with cocoa powder. I set a fan in front of it and dried it for 36 hours. There are three carved 9" round cakes under the fondant crown. I also colored the fondant brown, and rubbed with cocoa powder. The trim hat band is a store-bought braided trim.

My first time trying a box. I wanted it to be all edible so the lid is rice krispie treats. It was pretty heavy and difficult to support. Choco cake w/ ganache, choco satin ice imprinted with leather impression mat, concho's and tassels MMF. Didnt quite turn out the way I had wanted but it was a great learning experience for what to do next time! ;-)

This was an idea I had and wanted to play with. I stamped white fondant and then painted the rest brown. It looks kind of like leather.

This is a groom cake for that I delivered to a mansion in uptown New Orleans. I was able to do this cake thanks to the class I recently took with Sharon Zambito. She taught the technique to do a package cake with a box top and I used that to do the sides and lid of this cake. I could not have done it without her.
