No particular skill needed, that's why it's primitive! ;-p A "welcome to your new home" banana cake for my new neighbor. Just a MMF Mongolian ger (yurt); as there was no time to make BC and the cake didn't seeem sweet enough, I slapped on Danish strawberry jam. Helped keep the cake moist, too. Things are pretty dry over here.

My son David wanted me to make him a cake for a book report that he was doing, I told him to pick out his favorite scene and we would work on it. Originally it was the Aunts being squished which would have been MUCH easier, but then he got his heart set on the peach landing on the Empire state Building. Man was that a challenge, got it to the school ok and ran before I could see anything happen to it....curious 4th graders, falls, droops, cracks...etc. Pretty proud still.

Chocolate cake filled with strawberries and cream. Frosted with buttercream and drizzled with a homemade strawberry jam that didn't set up so I'd call it more of a syrup.

These are piped in the center with a surprise of strawberry jam. Then iced with strawberry icing, and topped with, of course, a strawberry. Very good! They are great right out of the fridge.

This cake was for a 21 year old grandson, from his grandmother. She explained to me that she was telling him she cannot believe he's 21, and he goes, "I know Grandma, License to Kill!", so she thought this would be really cute & was SO excited about it. I just had to share, thanks for looking!

This was my son's 5th B-Day cake. The dirt track is choc. frosting and the grass is white frosting sprayed green. The ramps on the sides are built up with E.L.F sandwich cookies and covered with frosting. All trucks are just toys that I purchased at Walmart.

This is my 2nd Monster truck cake. I made these out of rice krispy treats. It was easier, but I like the look of pound cake better.

I made these cupcakes for my son's Vacation Bible School. The theme was Secret Agent. Thanks to my sister juds2323 for helping me out with the idea. The cupcakes are iced white, then I piped a brown circle on top of the cupcake, and hand dipped pretzle Rods in chocolate for the handles.

This was my 1st carved cake. The truck is a Chocolate Mud Cake with Dark Chocolate BC. The dirt is WASC with Almond BC. I painted with Americolor. I somewhat used the Wilton instructions for a Monster Truck and help from this site. Thanks to all that posted other trucks and posts.

This cake was kind of sprung on me (my son wanted one cake and at the last minute he said "i would like a james bond cake instead" so after much thinking and with only a couple of days to go, this is the design i went for. My son was turning 7 so i had to keep the design simple and not too grown up. Everything is edible. The car is an icing plaque, the figure is mean't to be james bond and he is made out of fondant/gumpaste mix. I just made 2 eyes looking out of the tunnel so my son could use his imagination and choose which james bond vilian he wanted it to be.

This truck completely and totally did me in. I worked on elements from Wednesday to Saturday night. I was up one night till 3am. Of all the cakes I have done, this one was by far the most time consuming. My husband helped by building a frame so it would look like a "real" truck. The tires are rice krispy treats. The dirt mound is cake covered with butterscotch icing and cocoa powder. The whole top of the cake is edible except the skewers that look black bracing on the truck bed (roll cage). This was made for my son's 6th Birthday. And of course... he liked the hot wheels version better. I've been thanked about 20 times for the little toy car. Oh well....

My son has everything Thomas that you can think of, so naturally his 2nd birthday party was Thomas & Friends. I'd seen many Tidmouth Shed cakes but no Knapford Stations, so I spent 50+ hours working on this cake & it was a great success! The mountain #2 was his smash cake & I used the trains to represent the #1 had already arrived, #2 was on the hill (currently here) and the #3 was on the way (inside the station further back). He loved it and so did all the other kids/guests! TFL!
