Believe it or not, this was for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She absolutely loves Samurai Jack, she calls him her boyfriend ^^
This is an 8" round decorated with buttercream frosting. I outlined Jack freehand and filled it in with a small round tip.

First try with an airbrush. Best birthday present that I have ever bought myself. It was so much fun. The Jack-O-Lantern is four 8 inch round cakes covered in buttercream. Since there were so many pumpkins being uploaded I tried to be a little different. I used a paintbrush to make it look carved.

I made mini cakes for my coworkers for Halloween. These are 4" rounds, butter cake, 1 layer, torted and filled with pumpkin butter. Buttercream icing covered in fondant. Some turned out better than others. I think this was my 4th time working with fondant.

One of my kids favorite fast food place is Jack In The Box, and gotta admit, love the jack balls myself. Oldest wanted a jack ball cake - would love to try this in a half-ball shape next time, but just had carpal tunnel release surgery and had to do it the easiest way possible. Nose was made (before I discovered gum-paste or fondant) from frosting rolled in unflavored gelatin, very easy to work with and dries in a few hours, nose "painted" with Wilton coloring.

This was a mild challenge. Mom wanted a cake to match the napkins--Specifically a bear with a pink dress on, a bow and the jack-in-the-box. Used the Wilton bear pan and 2 6" square cakes (trimmed down to about 4 1/2"). Small smash cake on top that mother was going to put a #1 candle on. All BC except for dress and bow.

This is for a lady who was not able to celebrate her nephew's bday last year when he turned 21, so this year they are celebrating '21 + 1' years. The cards are fondant and drawn on w/Americolor food markers. The rest is MMBC.

This was for my best friend's birthday today. She has a Jack Russell Terrier and this picture is his personality to a tee!! She had a fit over the cake. It was a 10 inch square cake, homemade carrot cake with crusting cream cheese icing. I must again thank Squirrelly Cakes for the wonderful cake recipe and Edencakes for the icing recipe. Both are fantastic and received rave reviews all around.

Jack's head is cake from the sports ball pan. Shoulders are an 8" round cut in half and standing up side by side. Stripes are painted with silver luster dust. Neck is cardboard paper roll. Everything is frosted in buttercream. Bats wings are paper. Totally inspired by MelC's version.

This is the third cake i have made. It's Jack Skellington and I made it for my wifes birthday tomorrow. the base is 2 layer 12 x 14 chocolate that was originally going to be a tombstone, but I never cut due to how much cake would be wasted. His body is 4 layer 4 x 8. His neck is actually a Scott towel roll wrapped in Saran Wrap, buttercream and then fondant. For a head I used the Wilton ball pans. Base is buttercream, everything else is fondant with icing details. I custom made the stand to support his body

borrowing liberally from adven68s stellar work of the jack in the box here is Carrot Top my daughters favorite comedian!
box is covered in MMF since she doesnt like fondant (but I wouldnt recommend since it isnt stiff enough to hold to a vertical side) with fondant accents. lid is foamcore covered in MMF Carrot Top os GP, hand painted. there is a crank on the side which is GP and wire.

My mother's birthday is the day before Halloween, and she always had Halloween cakes growing up, so when she visited me for her birthday last year, I made this birthday cake for her. The leaves are fondant.

This cake is soooo easy but turns out sooo cute! Make two bundt cakes, Turn one upside down and then place the other on top were the flat sides will be touching. Decorate with orange icing (I used Buttercream) then take a standard ice creeam cone and place in the top, open end down. Decorate green. If you want to put a face you can use black icing or you can take orange gumdrops. Place some sugar on a flat surface then roll out gumdrops till they are falt like a pie crust. Cut out faces and put on cake.

Both designs all BC. The pumpkin ribs were piped with a large round tip, then details added. The spider cakes were iced smooth then the web and spider piped on. They went over big with the kids!

I made this totally for fun. Not planned at all (otherwise I would have used my round pan when baking the cake).

Vanilla and chocolate bundt cakes torted and filled with raspberry chocolate buttercream, then stacked and iced with traditional buttercream. Stalk is an ice cream cup also iced with buttercream. Face, leaves and vines are fondant. The pumpkin is surrounded by marble cupcakes iced with tradtional buttercream and topped with a personalized fondant pumpkin. These were all made for a pumpkin carving birthday party.
