The bride wanted something in ivory that looked like lace, so I did a flat ivory b.c. icing, with the white cornelli lace to contrast and get the desired effect.

This is supposed to be an ivory cake, but it looks yellow next to the white accents. The flowers are royal icing and the fence is color flow. My first wedding cake!!!

This was done in a 2-hour fondant class. The rose is candy clay. The drape is fondant. The cake is a single-layer, torted, 7" round, layered with lemon filling.

I couldn't wait to do this cake! The colours were so vivid. I used Americolor Burgundy and Wilton Chocolate Brown to get the perfect Merlot colour to match the couple's wedding invites. Their mongram is handwiting in royal icing on a curved gumpaste disc...center tier. The most complicated monogram I've EVER seen..hahaha!

I designed it from 3 other cake photos the bride brought in to the consultation. We took the top tier from one cake, the bottom from another and the middle from a third cake.

This cake looks like 3 big blocks of cheese to me! But it's exactly what the bride wanted.

The 2 outer tiers have huge exaggerated polka dots and the middle tier is taken from a wedding cake design that mimicked Japanese Obi Cloth (like a silky fabric pattern).

The cake is LOTS of chocolate...bottom is Dark Chocolate cake with Milk Chocolate buttercream, the middle is Dark Chocolate cake with Chocolate-Orange buttercream and the top is Dark Chocolate cake with Mocha buttercream.

This is a cake I whipped up last minute for a photo shoot. I've been asked to participate in a local Bridal magazine with all the top vendors in the area...and I'm the only cake decorator! The cakes are covered in ivory fondant with real ivory ribbon around each tier and royal beads on the tops and bottoms of the ribbon. The "police shields" as my husband so delicately calls them - are gumpaste molded from flex molds, then painted w/ gold luster dust. I added real flowers, no gumpaste this time.

For a Chocolate/Ivory themed wedding tonight at a very Art Deco venue. Worked perfectly!

I did the scrollwork in dark brown royal icing instead of chocolate, as it is an easier medium for me to work in. Fondant was Ivory White Chocolate.

Sizes are 6", 9", 12" and 15". Spiced Carrot Cake filled with Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting.

I did this one about a week before Christmas. It is hard to see all the detail in the tiers. She gave me a picture of what she liked and this was my version.

This is a picture my first wedding cake. It is Ivory buttercream frosting with BC roses and fondant swags. The only request that the bride made was for the colors, she left the design up to me. I wasn't sure how the fondant swags would look with the buttercream, but all in all I thought it turned out okay. The bride was very pleased with it so I guess that is considered a success. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. I can always use advice on bettering myself.

We started this cake 2 weeks ago! Based on a Colette Peters cake. (Bride brought us the photo.)
My partner Ana created the unbelievable pastillage vase with the flowers on top. It was about 7" in height and 1/4 the cost of the finished cake!
I used the couples' monogram of the letter "B" to make a central plaque in gumpaste and small snowflakes around the base tier. Edible sugar pearls, fondant pearls and irridescent "Snowflake" powder galore!

Cake was 4 huge tiers, each 6" height

I had a lady call me and state that she only had X amount of $$ to spend and wanted to know what I could do. It just need to be a small cake for a second wedding and then I saw the beautiful cake that hockeymom did and thought - that design would work perfectly for what the lady wanted. Thanks hockeymom, yours was a beautiful inspiration!!!

This is an orange cake frosted with ivory champagne-flavored buttercream. "Bubbles " were piped on the sides with uncolored piping gel. I wanted a simple look for this non-occasion cake. It might be cool to write a message in gel on the top if it was for an occasion. When you walk past this cake, the light shimmers through the bubbles. Really neat!

This was a cake inspired by tripletmom's Baby Bolton Cake. Thank you so much to her for the help she provided! It is a 6" and a 9" tier, chocolate and carrot with cream cheese icing covered in ivory fondant. Everything is edible except for the ribbon trim. Sprayed and dusted with super luster.

This was my first attempt at a wedding cake for a friend of mine. It is ivory buttercream. I used edible pearls and did a reverse shell border. I fought with the icing on the top tier because it wouldn't smooth out very well. That really frustrated me, but my friend was very pleased with it, so i guess that is all that counts, right:)?

I did this cake for my best friend, Fred's (aka Jennifer, she was nicknamed Fred by her stepbrothers and has stuck ever since she was 8 years old.) bridal shower. I was very happy with the outcome but I learned a lot in the process. A story to go with the cake.... It is suppose to be ivory with white accents. As I was getting out the ivory color I was on the phone with my MIL and at that moment they had a wreck while we were talking. So the color is off. But luckily they are okay!

This cake was made for a 60th (WOW!) anniversary. THe customer wanted something like a wedding cake but only 1-layer each--for a small gathering. We both had a hard time deciding want to do on it, bc her mother used to decorate cakes.

I found it! This was my very first wedding cake, the one you have to design and complete for the last class in the Wilton course. This was last November 2003. I believe 6, 9 & 12", Lemon, Almond & Chocolate respectively with different fillings as well. The instructor did not critique me at all!!!
