This was a 9" chocolate fudge cake with an edible image on top. I made the image on my computer at work and added the badge number and name. It was for a lady that was promoted to sergeant at our local city police dept.

This cake was made for my SIL's friend at work. He and his wife are expecting a little girl. They (the "friends" at work) requested a baby with his head on it for the cake decoration. This is my first attempt at photo editing. I created the picture by cropping his head off of 1 picture and using it to replace the baby's head. I hope he has a sense of humor (...and the baby looks more like her MOM!)

Ok, here's my first attempt at using my new printer. I printed on wafer paper, and I decided on the royal icing and tried putting piping gel on top of the image for more softening. You could tell the paper was there, but it wasn't too bad. I also tried putting a gold frame around it. That helped alot, I found to embellish it. Unfortunately, the image printed darker and with less contrast than what was on my computer. Not sure how to fix that. Any input would be much apprecciated!

This is a cake for a dog...not a people cake with a dog picture. No sugar was used. The cake has doggie treats in it, and the frosting is a very heavy milk and broth gravy, beaten with crisco. Edible image on wafer paper. I made the picture "artsy" and soft, and now I know I won't do that again, as the wafer paper softens images itself. But, not bad for a first edible image.

I was invited to a dinner party this Friday, and thought I'd try again to make edible image cookies. These are the hosts, and I think they came out alot better than the last ones. The image is clearer, and I learned alot about royal icing and the different thicknesses. Cronstructive criticism alway welcome

I made this cake back in October if memory serves me right.....22"x 15" made to match the promotion flyer. Airbrushed background, edible images on fondant placques, army seal placques in the top corners were painted gold to look like coins.

Forgive if this is posted twice. This is the period of time when the system is acting wonky. I needed a cake to take to a volunteer event and threw this one together but made the icing too soft. The border kept sliding down. The corners were especially bad...so I finally just scraped the darn things off and replaced with a big ol' pile of icing to hide the mess. But...the picture is purdy...and it tasted GREAT (carrot cake). Nobody noticed the mess.

This cake was my first attempt at an edible image. I was asked to bake a cake for a lady that took the Wilton cake decorating classes with me. I remembered a picture that I had taken of her in class one night so I found the picture and put it on the cake. I thought it came out nicely. I got lots of compliments on it.

This is an edible image with the birthday man's head on Newman's body! I did it on my computer, and then had problems with my printer, so Traci was kind enough to send me one! What would we do without each other here?! She saved me!

Thanks Homansweets for the Sesame Street Sign idea! I'm pretty happy with the way this turned out, except for the lettering of course! All buttercream with rice paper images in balloons.

My daughter plays clarinet and tomorrow is her birthday. She requested white cake with raspberry filling. I used a sleeved filling from my local cake supplier. DH Classic White with Dream Whip. Noncrusting buttercream with lemon exract. This is about 3 feet long and about 3 inches or so wide - except for the bell. The clarinet is 4 edible images laid end-to-end. Decorated with one of her favorite flowers in her favorite color. Easy and fun!

This was for my son's 9th b-day. It was done with an old Wilton pan I have that makes both layers at once. I was really stuck for an idea on this one, but the result was okay.

I wanted to try Hockeymom's method of lettering. (Piping over an edible image.) It's definitely an improvement for me...but I need lots more practice. I decided toapply the same technique to the main image. There are times I want something more organic looking than a printed image. This works, I think. It's easier and quicker than an FBCT, and you can build up areas, making it sculptural.

I made this one for DH's birthday! He just wanted a simple cake to share with the guys at work. I figured, as long as he was sharing, I might as well let them peek at the edible images I can print for cakes! This picture was taken a few years ago, on a moose hunting trip to Canada, it is one of the most memorable times he has had! He hasn't seen it yet, I'm sure he will love it!

This was my third cake last week(never do that again). It is a 1/2 sheet marble cake with vanilla BC filling and icing. The picture is an edible image. The glasses are MMF painted with icing paste and super pearl dust, with edible pearls attached. Big hit for the birthday girl and guests. I got another 2 orders from this one, too!

This is a cake I did this past weekend for a friend. The cake has gladiolas made of royal icing, then airbrushed to add depth and darker color. It also has an edible image on the cake of the person I made it for. The sides feature a triple bead border done in white and violet to match the color of the flowers.

Edible image of different pictures for the new movie Cars. All around the sides of the cake were images of all the different cars from the movie. I found the little cars that matched at Toys R Us.

This was for my best friend's birthday today. She has a Jack Russell Terrier and this picture is his personality to a tee!! She had a fit over the cake. It was a 10 inch square cake, homemade carrot cake with crusting cream cheese icing. I must again thank Squirrelly Cakes for the wonderful cake recipe and Edencakes for the icing recipe. Both are fantastic and received rave reviews all around.

This cake was an 18x24" sheet cake, done for a Confirmation. The young man this was made for attends a local Lutheran school and the confirmation, is part of the 8th grade promotion at his school. The cake was large enough that we were able to write out his Bible verse with the edible image.

This was made for an 8th grade promotion. The Mother who ordered this cake wanted to acknowledge her son's accomplishments, by writing them on the cake. But this is only a 9x13" sheet cake, and there simply was not enough room to write everything she wanted. Since the cake had an edible image anyway, I used my computer to print out the text onto the edible sheet and cut them out to place on the cake. I hope she likes it!

This was my first edible image cake. Very easy to work with. The cake is marble with a layer of white chocolate buttercream icing and then regular buttercream over top of it. I made this for a boy that was graduating with my son.

This is a graduation cake I did recently (photos are blacked out for purposes of posting here).

The left side had a baby picture and the right side was a current picture of the graduate. I used the larger of the Wilton book pans, but put it on top of an 11x15 cake to make it taller. This was a lot of cake and very heavy. If you make a cake this large, I recommend putting it on a plywood cake board to keep it from cracking.
