Intricate scroll work, sugar ribbons and a "faux fondant" finish are highlighted by a profusion of spring sugar roses, hydrangeas, cosmos freesias and sweet peas.

This was for my Mother's wedding a few weeks ago. She wanted something simple and small, and her favorite color is this vibrant blue. The hydrangeas are her favorite, from her own garden, placed on waxed paper. The cake was white chocolate, with chocolate-hazelnut (nutella) filling. We had to transport this cake 4 1/2 hours away, and it got a little beat up in the process (the top layer is a little crooked, it wouldn't go straight), but still intact!

I had a bride who wanted to match a Ben-Israel cake she saw on tv. This is black buttercream with silk flowers. Bottom and top tiers are styrofoam. Note: Take and awl or screwdriver with you (and duct tape) if you need to insert flowers into Styrofoam. I think this cake is simply gorgeous.

Many mistakes in this cake. The "basket" way too high...flowers should drape more..and it needed ivy or something to hang down more. First time making the daffodils and Hydrangea...love the Hydrangea cutters and the flowers are very sturdy..they could take alot of manipulation.

Top and bottom layer are forms, the two lopsided middle ones are real. One is chocolate, one is white.
Im just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to take the lopsidedness out of it. I think I have done all I can. Oh yeah... the two real ones are now stuck together, so I can't really lift them off without wrecking it. Joy joy joy !!!!

My very first wedding cake. I used the Dream Cake recipe from this site and I used strawberry filling and FondX fondant as a covering.

The flowers are gumpaste using Nicholas Lodge's recipe.

After the bride and groom made the fist cut - I pelled it off and re-frosted with buttercream.

I'm glad the first wedding cake is over and I hope to have another one to make one day.

My MIL showed me a picture of these cupcakes and said that's what she wanted. I put my "thinking cap" on and somehow they came out right. I've made them for birthdays, wedding showers, and just because. One lady almost chose them in addition to her wedding cake.

The tiers were covered with white buttercream. Swags decorated the sides with a blue molded fondant tulip placed at each point. The "George" borders were bordered on either side with white pearls. Fresh hydrangeas adorned the top of each tier. The topper was made up of blue hydrangeas and white tulips. The "George" border is a border that I have created using a combination of 3 different tips.

6",8",10",12" cake iced in ivory cream cheese buttercream with swiss dots, gumpaste roses(Jem 110mm cutter), hydrangeas(Scott Clark Wooley cutters), and butterflies (cookie cutters with wheat spaghetti for antennas), with hand-rolled fondant pearls. I dusted the gumpaste work with pearl dust, sparkle dust, and luster dusts. It was a lot of work, but I just love the way it turned out!

Fondant strips overlapped on a buttercream cake. Gumpaste Hydrangeas. I don't really like wedding ornaments as such, but this one was the brides parents ornament from 1952

5 tiered hexagon shaped wedding cake, with sugar hydrangea blossoms in graduating green color. Took quite a while to get all those done and wired, but the silicone impression mat helped! Bottom tier was fake.

I love this cake! It's all fondant and gumpaste. There are hydrangeas, calla lillys, and roses for the flowers. Tons of edible pearls! There was supposed to be a monogram topper, but it wasn't to the location yet when I set the cake up. I want a picture with the topper on.

This is my first solo wedding cake. It's made out of 18" 16" and 12" rounds. At brides request all the flowers are silk. I had to adjust the design a little as I made the cake but the bride had given me adjustment freedom and in the end we were both very happy with the outcome. Comments and critiques welcome.

Everything is MMF. My 2 year old daughter "helped" me with this cake while I was covering it with fondant and adding the decorations. So, it ended up being much fancier than I had first planned because I had to keep covering up the areas she "helped" with...hahaha...anyway, I think it turned out rather pretty and my daughter had a good time, too.
