This cake was supposed to look like a stitched picture with the tan oval being the little frame you use to stitch in. Anyway it is all buttercream icing and it was for a housewarming party. Everyone thought it was yummy!

I made this cake for some friends who just bought their first house. It is a white cake w/pudding filling and BC icing. The frog decorations are MMF. This was my first time using MMF - lots of fun! I looked up other frog cakes here on CC and copied one of the frogs. Thanks for sharing all your great cake ideas! (I need to get some sculpey clay books! ) I didn't think I could write neatly on the wavy, water-like cake, so I printed the wording on cardstock.

These were just practice cookies using Antonia74's frosting. These were fun but I definitely have lots of room for improvement! :-)

Still more practice cookies...just cannot seem to get the hang of these (to get them to look "clean" in the decorations), but I'm still working on them! :-)

1st yr anni. living together same week as her bday- choco fence /porch/etc. Choco cake. BC icing. House is crude replica of their house. (writing on sign SUCKED, impossible to write w/ gel on choco apparently for me). Happy Bday in backyard- plus choco transfer 'fave things' (harley, dog, chef's hat, cooking utensils)- really proud of harley lol next time I wont be so rushed and I'll do a tidier job-they were still WOW cause they thought I was just going to make 'a plain ole cake' lol

My OH's friend has just moved house and is having a housewarming party tomorrow night - so I made this as a housewarming gift. Based on an old Wilton yearbook design, vanilla cake baked in the 3D house pan on top of a 9in devils food cake filled with chocolate fudge buttercream. Whole thing covered in vanilla buttercream and decorated with royal icing drop flowers and roses (I'm still useless at piped roses!). Bluebirds are based on a Debbie Brown design in modelling fondant & have disco glittered wings!

This house was built by me and decorated by my six-year-old daughter. The red icing roof made the house very festive and added a surprising amount of color to the holiday decorations. It was a rich red but doesn't show on the photo.

This was my first gingerbread house. It had plexiglass windows so I could run a cord and lightbulb inside the house to make it light up.

The tree is pastillage painted with powdered food colors mixed with Everclear, the leaves are rice paper, and everything else is either fondant or gumpaste.

It's hard to see, but there is a hand pushing open a door on the top of the treehouse. Because it was for a competition, I even made a door under the cake. I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive. :)

I was asked by a friend to make a cake based on a photo they took while visiting a ghost town. Strawberry cake with vanilla bc tinted brown. MMF accents and board covering.

The lighting in the room turned the roof rafters blue-ish. Was actually black.

A kit from Wilton, I did this as a display for my Michael's store to generate interest in my Wilton courses. It was so much fun to do, and to not do exactly what the box said!!

This is a white cake iced in buttercream, with the Wilton house pan that I iced in buttercream to look like a barn. The haystacks are marshmallows wrapped in icing. The garden is crushed oreo's. The animals are plastic.

This was a failed attempt at using the stand-up house pan. I used the cake leveler and completely took out the backside of the eaves, so I had to lay it down. It's fitting that it looks pitiful, as this is one of our oldest fire houses in the county. It's for their annual golf tournament - so hopefully those golfers will be so hungry they won't notice it's kind of shabby!

I did the stand-up house cake for my daughter's birthday party. After making it, I realized it wasn't big enough for all of the guests. I made a 9" round cake and placed the house on top. The tombstones and tree were made with Color Flow.
