This cake is a quarter sheet. The house is made from gingerbread so that is can be removed and used for decoration afterwards. The tombstones, tree and pathway stones are made from Royal Icing. the only thing not edible on this cake is the skeleton.

This was so much fun to do! I can't wait to do a gingerbread house for Xmas! Lots of room for improvement, but this was my first stand-up cake. Hazelnut cake with buttercream icing. The moon is a sugar cookie on a stick decorated with buttercream and a royal icing witch...

Thanks to Doug for helping me with this and thanks to Fairytale for the inspiration! This is my take on Fairytales gingerbread haunted house. Two of the cakes are marble and the roof is chocolate. All iced in buttercream with gumpaste accents (ghosts, pumpkins, fence). Filled with buttercream too.
Thanks for looking!

this was my gingerbread house from the competition at the grove park inn in 2005. My theme was a snowflake factory. I did not win but i did get a honorable mention which is all right with me.

Made this house cake for a housewarming party. It is 16 inches wide and 12 inches tall and a replica of their home. Three full cakes -- white almond sour cream with dulce de leche buttercream filling on the bottom; white chocolate sour cream with dulce de leche buttercream filling in the middle; devils food sour cream with dulce de leche buttercream filling on the top. Whole thing iced in buttercream. Fondant driveway.

This cake is made from 4 11x15's and 5 8x8's all in vanilla with vanilla pudding painted in green between layers and covered in vanilla butter-cream and fondant. All decorations made of fondant and all edible except dowels and stick holding the moon, everything else 100% edible, the bottom and middle houses are cake and the very top is all cookie covered in butter-cream and fondant also. This cake was inspired by the Home Interiors Haunted House. The cake was given to all Halloween trick-or-treaters

I made this cake for a o-worker. She said she was always in the doghouse so thats what she wanted me to make. I used the 3-D house pan and made two sides which I "glued" together with BC frosting. The cake was yellow with BC frosting and fondant accents. She absolutely loved it and people couldn't believe it was a cake.

I was asked to do a cake for a house warming party. SO I talked to the lady and she mailed me a picture to give me an idea of what to do. She saw this on a rug and just had to have it. Well I said no problem it looks pretty simple. Don't let the picture fool you, it gave me more problems than a hard one. It was two layer quarter sheet cake. Half chocolate and half vanilla. Strawberry filling with buttercream icing. My colors didn't match so hopefully she can look over that. Let me know what you think.

A haunted house with monsters in the graveyard and flying ghosts. This was carved from several sheet cakes. The shingles are graham crackers, and the ghosts & monsters are marshmallows (store bought). The front porch overhang is held up with pirouettes cut down to appear like columns. The graves are fondant tombstones with caramel crumbles for dirt. The grass is tinted coconut over BC. The ghosts are glued with candy to wires to make the "fly" around the top of the house.
