I saw this design here in the gallery, so I thought that I would give it a try for my daughter's 6th birthday. Everyone kept trying to grap a handful of popcorn out of it! I assembled an 8", 9", and two 10" then carved the bucket shape. Bottom cake was chocolate and the 10" cake was white both had white chocolate mousse and strawberry fillings. Iced in buttercream with fondant stripes. Film was a tootsie roll wrapped around a 6" cake with fondant top and bottom. Thanks for looking!

This is my first attempt at any contest. I entered a twist of one of my previous cakes for the year's County Fair. The theme is Hollywood. The cake is styrofoam which is new to me and my icing got some air bubbles, UGH! Marilyn is hand molded from fondant, which was also a first this weekend. Popcorn is real and all other accents are fondant. Thanks for looking!

This is a close up of the fondant Marilyn I did for my Fair entry. This was my first attempt at molding people. I would surely change some things next time, but overall I'm pretty pleased. Thanks for looking!

Mde this for my son's 2nd birthday. We are in the process of moving back to the U.S. from Italy so I have been limited on supplies and time so this is all I could crack out. He is in love with moons and stars. He really got a kick out of the cake. He always thinks the cakes I make are for him and he is always upset when they are not, so when I set this one in front of him he was SOOOOOO excited.

My friend Bev came over and helped me come up with a cake any kid would want for a Hollywood theme party. My daughters friends were all excited to see the cake! My daughter Lexie, was delighted. I really like this site for looking up ideas for cakes so I thought I would put a photo of this one in too.

10" Devils food w/cbc, 8" Lemon cake with lemon curd filling, 6" white cake with lemon cream filling. The palms and buildings are rice crispy treats with bc. The movie billboard is rice crispy treat covered in mmf. You cannot tell from this picture but it is lit up with battery operated mini bulbs around the sign. Was not too happy with crispy treat building and palms because it was hot in September and they were limp. I used spray coloring for the first time an could not get the exact affect I wanted

This cake was made for my daughters Staff Appreciation luncheon. The theme was Hollywood. The frosting is the White as Snow buttercream and I used the Melvira Method to smooth it, worked better than anything!!! Used luster dusted fondant stars and the "red carpet" is made of fondant too.

This was my first stacked cake with buttercream. It's had it's faults, but worked. I loved working with the luster dust/highlighter dust. This was fun overall. LOL, only had one meltdown!

Done for a Hollywood themed bday party. They wanted the cake to look like a Hollywood star in the sidewalk, hence the gray icing.

This was the cake I made for my daughter's 10th birthday. I used the centerpiece from the birthday decorations I had purchased and cut out the "ticket" from the invitations and fit them on the cake. I used Food coloring spray for the red carpet and did a black and white rope border. This was an idea from another user of this website and I loved the idea! Thank you. This is one of my favorites and it was so easy!

This cake was made for my husbands birthday. I redecorated the entire house with the hollywood theme and did not know what design to give the cake and this is what I came up with. The little cubes around the cake lights up except that you can't see it on the pictures.

All WASC each tier is three layers. My buttercream was having a moment because it was very humid here. I should have used the High Humidity Buttercream but I will next time. My inspirations came from the best caking website ever, CC. Thanx for looking.

This was made for a friends daughter who just graduated high school. She loves hollywood and Marilyn Monroe. The Marilyn is made from chocolate, I will upload a closer pic of it, I love how she came out. It's the 1st time I tried copying a face. I hope it's obvious but the Hollywood letters are supposed to have lighting shinning up on it. Thanks for looking!

This is a close up of the top of my Marilyn Monroe Graduation cake. Please see other pic for the full cake. She is made from chocolate. I wanted it to have that kind of ripped paper look so that is why she isn't smooth on the sides. Thanks for looking :)

This cake was for my oldest daughter's 10th b-day. She wanted a movie star themed birthday, so this cake seemed fitting. Cake and decorations are all BC except for the pictures which are Edible Images. My local grocery store was willing to print them out for me, for a significant charge of course. The larger photos on the top are her at 1 and 10, the others photos are of her at each of the other years chronologically.

This was my cake for a friend's Oscars party. Everything is edible! I baked the cake in a flower pot to get the shape, the film is chocolate and the reel and strip are rolled fondant. The "popcorn" is fondant as well. I sprayed it with a mixture of corn syrup, warm water and yellow food colouring for the butter. Thanks for looking.
