This is a double layer giant ding dong cake I made for a friend at work to celebrate the return of hockey season. Gold and green are luster dust, letters and base of star are buttercream. Icing is from Giant Ding Dong cake recipe from Cake Central.com. I made a double layer because a single layer wasn't tall enough to look like a hockey puck.

This is a cake I made for a customer who wanted a cake for her kids end of season party. It is a marble cake and was made using 2 9"x13" pans - one for the body and I cut the other in half for the arms. It is decorated like the hockey sweater for the team.

Last minute request for my husband's friend. He called me at work at 4 pm to see if I could whip something up for the next morning. Of course I got out of work to buy ingredients and bake at night. I think it came out pretty good for what it was.

5 inch brandy cake made from scratch. Buttercream and plastic rings for decorations.

This was a last minute order last night. Since we're in Carolina territory, I couldn't pass it up. Wish I could have spent more time on the cup part, had trouble getting the fondant smooth underneath.

The bride ordered this as a surprise for her hockey loving groom. I started with an oval cake, blew up the logo on my computer, then carved the cake to match. All buttercream.

An Ottawa Senators bday cake for a friend. All in buttercream. Would LOVE any suggestions on how to tranfer an image onto a cake "cleanly", tried the FBCT (not smooth) and this one was a piping gel transfer (again not too nice) ...maybe its just my skills or lack there of LOL
Thanks!

These may very well be my favourite cakes to date! Each is a 12x18, one white with vanilla IMBC covered in fondant, the other chocolate with chocolate IMBC and covered in chocolate fondant. The logos are traced and then painted onto rice paper which I then made into fondant plaques.
They were the hit of the party!

16 yr old neice wanted Kipper for her cake (I think she thought she could stump me). Center layer cake is Lemon Ice cake layered with Chocolate Chocolate Chip cake with Lemon Curd and Nutella as filling. Shoulders are Butter Pecan cake layered with a Nutella Filling. Cake is iced in Buttercream with White Chocolate colored letters. Used the Spiderman instructions from here for my base. Had a lot of fun with this one as it was challenging but we all love Kipper around here !!!

This was made for a big Calgary Flames fan. His name is Carter so I used the flaming C as the C in Carter. I transferred the C pattern with piping gel and filled it in with a star tip

Used a double-layer slab cake to cut & shape the stick & puck, iced them both on top with fondant to detail them.

A local hockey mom saw my other jerseys and requested this for her son who is a HUGE fan of our local OHL team the Barrie Colts. That is my step-son's jersey beside it to show what it was modelled after. It is a 9x13 chocolate cake filled and iced with chocolate buttercream then covered with fondant.

I was asked to do a hockey jersey - so I attempted one. Wasn't as easy as I thought it would be....Saw a few jerseys on this site and it inspired me....The sleeves were hard. Used MMF and Buttercream. The logo is color flow. Hopefully will do better next time..
