I made these for a customer who's 2 children have birthdays only a week apart...they had one huge Madagascar themed birthday party for both kids...the youngest was turning 1, so I also made a smash cake for him.

The 3-tiered cake will feed 55+. Both are all white cake with all buttercream icing. The characters are royal icing transfers...the leaves, rocks & palms are all MMF, pretzel rods for palm trunks...the water is buttercream painted with piping gel...everything is edible! :0)

Thanks for looking!

My daughter has a stuffed hippo she named Snoofy. So every hippo is now named snoofy. I made these just to practice since I've never made iced sugar cookies before. These were fun!

I made this for my nephew's first bday. 10-inch & 6-inch rounds iced in buttercream. Decorations are fondant, gumpaste, and buttercream. Waterfall is piping gel over buttercream. HUGE thanks to Kelleykakes: her beautiful jungle cake inspired the waterfall and I copied (tried, anyway) her wonderful fondant elephant, hippo and monkeys. The parrots are gumpaste painted with Americolors.
There was a smash cake too, but I don't have a pic yet.

I made the lemurs & penguins from sugarpaste a couple of days earlier. The rest are cake. Melman (giraffe) actually collapsed twice when i was moving the cake (although i had secured the pillars to the cake board), so i gave up at the end and placed him on his tummy. I did manage to get this shot first. Its all a little messy...i used the satnd up lamb for Alex the lion's head & body, and the rest of it for Melman. Gloria (hippo) was the ball tin. Marty (zebra) was the train tin, shaven off here and there.

All I did was bake this cake and make the frosting (which was a disaster). DH made the frosting useable and carved the cake and frosted it!!! He is amazing! This is for my bosses 50th birthday party. She collects hippos and this was her request.

I made this cake for my sister's baby shower. They are doing the baby boy's nursery with a safari theme, so I based the entire shower off that idea. The cake is filled with the absolutely scrumptious whipped chocolate ganache filling from this website, and covered in MMF. All the animals and the trees are made by hand out of chocolate clay; the grass and water are buttercream.

I got this idea from hockeygirl658. This was my first attempt at a sculpted cake. It actually turned out a lot better than I had thought. I was not holding out much hope for my sculpting skills. It's far from perfect, but I'm pleased with it anyway.

This was my very first attempt at cake decorating. It came out pretty good I think. (except for the sides....I really struggled with them) I wrote "Hippo Birdie Two Ewe" on it and drew a hippo with a bird and two sheep on its back. My sister who it was for is a real hippo freak, so she loved it.

This was a graduation, birthday, and going away cake. The girl was going off to Africa for two years, so we went with a jungle themed cake. It is buttercream, the animals are fondant/gumpaste.

It was a zoo birthday for our oldest (5) this year. He saw one like this on here and said "That's what I want!!!" We had so much fun making it. Animals and leaves are fondant. Trees are pretzels. Bottom cake is chocolate, top is yellow, CBC icing. The boys still remember eating the snakes!

Baby boy jungle shower cake. Three tiers top two are fudge cake with rasberry filling and the bottom is sugar free yellow with fresh strawberries (The mom-to-be is diabetic). All covered in bc. Animals, baby and palm trees are mmf. Cake board is covered in mmf and the water is also mmf. Took a lot of time but I had so much fun doing it and I love the way it turned out. Thanks to all the cc members who posted animals or jungle cakes i used them all for insperation. TFL
