used the wilton ball pan and pound cake recipe from an '86 wilton yearbook. The cake crust looked so realistic I ddidn't cover it. Made this when I was 12(?) in '98 or '99. I used BC and smoothed the cheese with water.

Done on very short notice. Person called last night and wanted a single serving hamburger for a birthday today. It would have never have come out this good without all the inspiration from all the people in this gallery. My deepest thanks.

This is a three-layer cake done in buttercream with fondant trims. I have a small cake business and a website, and am wondering if I offered detailed instructions on how to make these and other similar cakes, if they would sell and for how much. I need honest opinions!

I had so much fun doing this cake! Bottom is a torted 10" and the hamburger is a 6". I put enough batter in my pan so that when it baked it domed really well. Normally I would squish down any bump, so it was fun actually trying for one. Tablecloth is fondant with the checks painted on, the hamburger is buttercream with fondant lettuce and tomato. The bees and ladybug are fondant as well. Thanks to all those who have posted a hamburger cake in the gallery as I took inspiration from you all!

Chocolate cake, fudge frosting. The kids help me decorate it for dad with wilton icing writers. Hot dogs and cheeseburgers are from fondant. Cheese is actually taffy that just happened to melt more after it sat overnight!

Made these for a co-workers husband. He only likes cupcakes, and his wife bought him a grill for his birthday so these went along great! He loved them.

This cake was done for my nephew, who celebrated his birthday at a family cook out. The base was a 1/2 sheet cake covered with marshmallow fondant painted with food dye to look like a table cloth. The hamburger was made from 3 8in. cakes with fondant accents.

First attempt at a theme type cake. My neighbor had a birthday and he is a wonderful grill chef. The hamburger and hotdog are made with rolled buttercream icing.- my first attempt at that also.

I think everyone has to do one of these at some point lol. Somehow I love the irony of cake that looks like other food, and I'm getting even more of a kick out of this one because it's for a vegetarian cookout I'm going to tomorrow. I told the honoree that she gets to eat her first cheeseburger. :)

Another fun idea from the inspirational bakers here at cake central! My daughter's school implemented a new "healthier" nutrition policy. So instead of traditional cupcakes for her birthday... she brought in "hamburgers!" Happy Baking~!

This was an Archie Comics Theme Party. And this was the cake my daughter wanted. Base covering is butter-cream, and the sides with fondant. The burger is all buttercream, except the cheese and the tomato.

I made this for my husband's 30th birthday! He loved it. I didn't get the colour of the bun right and I forgot the cheese but overall it turned out good. It was the first time I used fondant (for the onions and tomatoes). It was fun making this one.
