8 inch rounds layered with chocolate filling, iced with white buttercream. Stewie was my very first try at FBCT, I was so proud when I peeled off the paper! My freehand writing as you can tell still needs some work!

This cake was a nightmare..>Stewy is a BCT, he broke in 3 places and the cake had to be iced in whip cream b/c some of the guests are sensitive to this is it...whatever, as long as she's happy...and the big space there is so she could put her little "family guy" toys

I made this cake for a friend’s husband, he raises roosters and loves to be around them, I wanted to try to make tile with fondant and this was the perfect cake to practice on. I got the idea off a cake I found here in the gallery.

I'm sure there must be a few of you sweet cake ladies who are a bit tired of me uploading two pictures almost every time I upload - my reason for this is that every single time I design a cake I spend a long time searching the net for detailed ideas ... which is why I upload close up off my little people - I would love to help anyone wanting to get an idea!

I just wanted to add this picture, because I was searching this site for an example of a 30th birthday cake for a man, and couldn't find one that I could use. Most of the cakes were for women, or were very elaborate & this cake only needed to serve 7 & also had to travel with my friend for an hour in the car.... so, I hope this helps someone in the future, to find a simple idea! =)

I've seen several cakes in the galleries like this. This is my first try with color flow. It was pretty easy! I'm sure this cake will taste delicious since I added double the chocolate that the recipe called for.

This is definitely not a pretty cake. This was for a Metallica fan. I cut the skull out of fondant and my boyfreind did the detail with the Ateco food color markers (best food color markers ever!).

This was my husband's birthday cake from yesterday. We are huge Family Guy fans and Stewie is his favorite! All of the face/body accents are made with fondant. The cakes themselves were Swedish butter cake with blackberry Italian meringue buttercream filling and vanilla Italian meringue buttercream frosting under the fondant. He was SO much fun to make!! Wanted to do him in 3D but the trip to the restaurant would have been too much for him to survive with that giant football head! Enjoy!

The best view of the cake done for a graduate with degrees in geology (ie the rocks) and music. He's an avid outdoorsman, too. The cake is chocolate/white/yellow. Most of the decoration is buttercream. Man is made of marzipan. Writing & guitar are made of royal icing.

This is a chocolate transfer. I made it for my husband to take to work where he is an engineer that works on this plane. It is for his birthday, but he never wants anyone to know it is his b-day so he didn't want any writing on it. It is coconut supreme with the enhanced recipe with the French Vanilla Coffeemate. BC icing with the blue spray paint from Wilton on it.

This cake was for a friend's co-worker. The chef where she works is having a baby and they call him Stewie (from Family Guy). The thing on Stewie's head is supposed to be a chef hat. The decorations on the side of the cake are plastic shower favors that I bought and put on with piping gel.

This was one of the first cakes I made. It was for one of my guy friend's birthdays. We always tease him because he works out a lot and loves to wear tight t-shirts, sometimes pink. I thought it would be funny to make a cake that looked like him with a tight shirt. I bought the old superman/batman pan on ebay and use that, just cut off the cape.

I made this for my sister's boyfriend. I traced the outline of the picture onto waxed paper with chocolate and then tranferred it onto the cake (i didn't have time for color flow). It worked out okay I think.

This cake was inspired by Helen at marmalade and various other poker cakes. It turned out well I thought. i had trouble getting the cards to color evenly so my fingers ended up dust colored. Oh and I did nto note the cake orientation when i torted so when i put the layer back on the lines of the octagon were not matched up right. i had to keep truning it to get the sides even. NExt time I will tort them cut the edges!

I guess this was a difficult cake to cover anyway but I made alot of mistakes on this one. Plus it took me forever and ever and ever. Of course the two guys I made it for loved it...I also made cotrollers. Maybe it is the mmf recipe that I am using but I get lots of cracks when I try to cover things...

My first paid cake. For a friend who would like to upgrade to a Volkswagen Golf but wife said 'No'. Its an orange cake with chocolate filling. Fondant accents. 2D fondant car on white chocolate dream 'cloud'. The fondant slips as the icing softens. I hope the cake make it till the end of the party!

I did this cake for my husband for his birthday. We'll see if it's a hit when people arrive. I was surely disappointed, it came out totally different than what I wanted.

This is a high school graduation cake, and my first attempt at an FBCT. The oval is a plaque of white chocolate using the smallest oval cake pan as a form. (Saying was a request, and I didn't want to risk messing it up on the cake!) Star is fondant. Sides are sponge painted with thinned burgundy BC, then sponged again sparingly with slightly thinned white BC.

This is a 14" round with a football cake on top for Stewie's head. It's hard to see from above, but there's no top border. I wanted to put one but I ran out of room. The bottom border is a black shell border.
