This was for a VERY Irish wedding!! The shamrocks were made of gumpaste and with small dogwood cutters. The fondant was made of pale green color, and dusted with pale green lusterdust. The knot was originally etched on the toasting - Pint glasses (Guiness of course!). I traced over it and piped 4 of them from royal icing and then colored with gold luster dust.

I'm pretty happy with how this cake turned out except for the scroll-y things on the bottom layer. Oh well, too late now! I'm so glad to be finished with the classes and am anxious to bake more cakes!

My first ever cake, a trial version of a christening cake. I decided to match the scheme with the theme of my son's room - bugs. I think it looks a bit too much like platecine and will probably go for a more tradition christening cake for the real thing. It is chocolate mud with a layer of marzipan followed by a layer of sugarpaste with hand moulded sugarpaste figures.

This was a cake done for a wedding shower for two couples. I was told I could do whatever I wanted so I choose to do something similar to one of the cakes in the new Wilton Yearbook.

Ok this is a cake for one of my very best friends. She loves butterflies and her fav color is pink. She also likes green. I had planned on using more pink in the cake but i am very happy with how this turned out.

Nobody around here really celebrates Mardi Gras, so I had to do a bit of research online for this Birthday Cake. I learned all about the King Cakes, beads and the 3 colours. (Makes me want to visit New Orleans next year!!)

I made the masks first out of gumpaste and detailed with tiny silver dragees. I used real ribbon for the masks.

Liked the idea of the harlequin pattern, so that was all done in fondant diamonds with larger silver dragees for detail. I copied the rope border from a cake found online.

This cake was ordered on short notice for a small bridal shower. The only request was green decorations. When the customer picked it up, she took one look at it and ordered a cake for a baby shower in a couple of weeks. :-)

This was a bold wedding today. Everything was silver and white...with these 3 amazing colours as accents. The gerbera daisy theme was SO pretty!

I used three flavours of cupcakes topped with coloured/flavoured buttercream swirls: Tahitian Vanilla Cupcakes with Bright Orange Vanilla Buttercream, Lemon Cupcakes with Lime Buttercream & Dark Chocolate Cupcakes with Raspberry Pink Buttercream.

The toppers are simple, white gumpaste daisy cutouts.

I made these for a friend. We have a running joke about her boring choices in footwear, so I made her some "purty" shoes. ;)

All MMF over buttercream. First bow and first rolled rose. Bow was too thick, and did not dry long enough, but practice makes perfect. Gave it to brother, he didn't know the difference:)

I got the idea from ntertayneme (thanks again!). This is two 8 inch cakes and one 10 inch cake. I used the crusting buttercream (doing the faux fondant look) and MMF for the writing, balls, hearts, and flowers.

My nephew couldn't decide whether or not he wanted the Hulk or Spiderman, so I told him he didn't have to decide and I managed to come up with this. It's just a 1/2 sheet cake decorated with buttercream frosting; I managed to find the little figures at a Christmas clearance sale, they were ornaments.

My first wedding cake. Done in the smallest kitched I've ever seen. All vegan white cake with lemmon filling. Ran out of time and supplies, oh well. I should have coverd the cake boards, and done the sweral design on the top layer too. The bottom design is a row of Ankhs (Ancient Egyptian hieroglyph meaning eternal life) make with tip 12 and Jordan Almonds. The bride (my best friend) didn't know what she wanted except green.

These are mini cupcakes. Nothing spectacular but thought it might give someone a neat idea for school. Since my daughter's kindergarten class is studying capital M, lower case m and Me My this week and the color green I came up with this idea. Each kid will get two mini cupcakes, one m and a vowel. They will be able to make a word and have to tell us which word they get. Figure I would make the work for their snack treat since I had to work to make them, LOL!!

This is my third practice cake only, so there's bound to be a few flaws... like I only have one tip so the piping isn't exactly amazing (still waiting to receive the set I won on eBay). I used the "upside down icing" technique which is less tricky than I expected. The sides and top came out nice and square, overall straight, no lumps, bumps or indents.

This is a 3-d personalized racecar. I made it for my little cousins 11th birthday (hence the number 11 on the car). It is a vanilla cake with chocolate pastry cream and bananas. I covered the cake in buttercream and then airbrushed the colors. The windows are made from black fondant and then airbrushed with silver. All of the little decals were made with a food color printer and potato paper. Then I hand-painted silver stripes and squiggles. Enjoy!

I recently took a class with Nicholas Lodge. It was a two day course and this is the final result. Everything is gumpaste except the wires holding it together and the bow!

I tried to go easy on the frosting...and on the calories too. One thing I really liked is the color scheme.
