This graduation cake was a vanilla cake with pastry cream and strawberries inside. It is covered in whipped cream and has some airbrushed buttercream roses. The base of the graduation hat is cake and the top of the hat is a piece of foam board covered in tissue paper. The small purple flowers are royal icing as are the letters.

This cake was for my older cousin who graduated from college. It was a vanilla sponge with custard and strawberries. The cake was covered in whipped cream and had some gumpaste flowers on it. The base of the hat was a small chocolate cake for my grandma who couldn't eat the strawberries in the rest of the cake!

This is my first attempt at molding anything with fondant. I used mmf but am not really crazy with how it turned out. My 14 year old told me it looked like a rolled tortilla. :) Thanks for looking!

I know this isn't my best work, but I think it came out cute. It is the first time I tried for a BCT. This is a rocky road ice cream/chocolate cake with Dawn's buttercream icing. It is for my son's Kindergarten Graduation. The school isn't doing any kind of ceremony so I decided to to one at home. Made him a little diploma and everything!!!

This was my DH graduation cake. The bottom was made from a small metal mixing bowl & the mortar was an 8in square cake. I saw it in a book & thought I would try it.

One I did some time back, but gives you an idea for a man's graduation cake. Straight lines and bold colors makes it work. The box on the top helps fill in the space and gives a different dimension to the cake.

My neice asked me for a crooked cake for her graduation - she likes things out of the ordinary and this is what I came up with. The cakes were iced with buttercream and then I cut out the shape from fondant and placed them on the cakes. They were seperated by styrofoam cut on angles and then I used curled ribbon to hide that. It was a big hit. You could use this design for basically any occassion.

Chocolate bottom layer and vanilla top layer. Cut 3 shades of fondant strips and rolled them together to get tri-color panels. Scroll, cap, and curls are fondant. Should have used gum paste. Fondant dried for a week and stil the heat and humidity kept it soft. Curls kept breaking off. My daughter thought they were just up side down curls. Live and learn.

My sister did this cake for my college graduation. The sheet cake is white with buttercream frosting. The cap is buttercream and fondant. Not a bad attempt considering she was at the hospital for about 24 hours before doing this cake.

This cake was to celebrate a young girl's 18th birthday and high school graduation. She wanted red, white and blue colors and it was difficult to do something nice without looking patriotic

I made this cake for my BIL's graduation from Le Cordon Bleu....Western Culinary Institute. It is a chocolate cake, with a strawberry cream cheese filling, iced with cream cheese frosting then topped with rolled fondant. I made the Le Cordon Bleu Logo out of Marzipan, and painted it with the Wilton brush on paint. It's a bit plain looking...but it's clean and I liked how it turned out.

This was my Graduation Cake from Wilton Course III. Since it was one week before my daughters High School Graduation I used her school color.

I used silk flowers on the top and had them cascade over the side.

This is the biggest cake I've made to date! Tried to keep the design simple so I could get it done in time for the graduation party.

This was a graduation cake done with the edible icing sheets which was more like wafer paper. I've since changed to the Luck's brand of icing sheets.
