These were made for a bridal shower. There are 1/2 vanilla and 1/2 chocolate cupcakes. The little cake is vanilla with strawberries and pastry cream. All are iced in buttercream and have hefty amounts of edible glitter on top.

Trawling the archives to find some earlier cakes of mine! This was a fabulous Jane Asher recipe rich fruit cake (very boozy!), covered in marzipan, then Royal Icing, sprinkled with Disco Glitter and finished with a hand-painted fondant plaque angel.

This was the second cake I ever decorated... Since it was the first time I did such a 'complex design' I decided to document it... I think this will be a good help for beginers. Enjoy!

This is the smash cake that goes with the pooh cake that I made for my cousin's little girl. I did not smooth this cake b/c I wanted the cake to be a little different. I used edible glitter for the top, and a reverse shell border on top.

Posted this earlier today, but I went out and found this beautiful coloured ‘paua’ lustre dust which I now have painted on her tail, can one be addicted to lustre dust?

This isn't my best (read post "Cake ashes" in the cake disaster forum). This was my first ever doll cake. I frosted it w/ the crusting BC recipe found on this site. I attempted to do some fancy "S's" but the frosting was too stiff. So then I tried making the "S's" into cornelli lace...fat then I tried to salvage it and try doing sotas on top...haha -this cake laughed at me all the way. I did like the hair though! I used dragees for the earrings and necklace and used edible glitter on doll

This is for my nieces birthday today (this one is for the children). You can’t quite see it in the pic but there is glitter all over it and it looks really pretty. Need to work on my writing!

This is an "attempted" snowman globe style cake. The snowman is done freehand, and I obviously suffered a blonde moment in the design process as everything ended up opposite of what the picture looked like -yikes-
Anyways, I used the clear edible glitter for a look of falling snow. My snowflakes aren't the greatest, but then again I'm not perfect. I almost lost this cake -it *ALMOST* did a nose dive as I got out of our car...luckily the damage was minimal, and to the side (and after I got the picture!)

Thought of the Top Hat and thought it'd be easy. Well, easy it was.... though still very time consuming. The rim is a 12" Chocolate cake the Top part of the Hat is Chocolate and Yellow cake checkerboard. First attempt. It looked great when they cut it. The band is white fondant with black spray (new- don't like it) and silver flakes. Could have done better with the decorations, though time was short. Thanks for looking.

6in & 8in Devil's Food cakes sprinkled with Creme de Cacoa liqueur and filled with whipped white chocolate ganache. Covered with lustre dusted fondant, decorated with fondant pearls, lustre painted fondant retro circles. Name, age and stars made from fondant covered with champagne disco glitter. Made as a semi-gift (he's paying 40 euros towards it), for my other-half's friend who's having a big birthday bash on Saturday evening.

Designed by the birthday girl after browsing Cake Central for awhile. She chose the various layers of animal prints and colors. Found a notepad made out of the CD (used as the cover and backer) on clearance at the Disney store, so I just took the spiral binding off and used it as a topper. Very busy cake with lots of sparkle... perfect for an 8 year old!

This is the close-up version. This cake is iced smooth with buttercream. Top portion of each layer is iced in plum buttercream and covered with plum cornelli lace. Each color is separated by a strand of pearls that were provided by the bride's mother. The bottom portion of each layer was covered with edible glitter, but the room was too dark for the shimmer to stand out.

This is actually a graduation cake for a "black and white" themed party. 12, 9, and 6 w/ glittered fondant roses! I got to design it. I did this cake for the cost of ingredients, so it was quite an investment on my part since this is the largest cake I have made so far. I had a bit of trouble with the 9" so I had to rip off the fondant and start again. I was freaking out and in tears. All in all though, I think it turned out well! The recipient was happy but she said part of the V broke during the party :(

Oval sheetcake with vanilla and chocolate buttercream. chocolate fudge cake. Edible image of H. Montana. Clear cake glitter sprinkled on the cornelli lace, which I use to camoflage the image edges as well as my less than perfect smoothing job (overrated, overrated....)!!!!!

I made these for my daughter to take to preschool for her 5th birthday. The cakes were made from leftover cake from her main Felicity Wishes cake (posted on cakecentral yesterday). I cut the remaining cake into even rectangles, covered them with fondant and placed a fondant butterfly on each. Edible glitter is used on the centre of each. Toadstool and fairy candles to decorate.

Original design by Wendy Kromer Confections.
White chocolate MMF leaves trimmed and dusted with gold glitter dust; balls (representing the grapes) made from the same MMF dusted with Aztec gold dust and covered in a hard sugar glaze. Caramel tendrills. My top layer of buttercream wrinkled for some reason and the second layer bulged. Not an easy cake to decorate. The humitidy did a number on both the leaves and the caramel. So glad this one is done!
