This bride was SO much fun and let me be free to just do something kitchy and colourful for her. She wanted flowers on mini cupcakes and a big cupcake as the top cake to cut, with their initials in gumpaste.

Mini cupcakes are in 4 designs/flavours: Roasted Banana Buttermilk Cake with Sour Cream Buttercream, Sweet Lemon with Cream Cheese Buttercream, Dark Chocolate with Mocha Buttercream & Tahitian Vanilla with Fresh Raspberry Buttercream.

6" round bottom, and 6" square trimmed and built up for swirl top. I'm not in love with this cake, but it was fun to try. I will do it a lot different next time. Top covered in fondant and painted with luster dust. Bottom is fondant that I crimped by hand to try and resemble the liner that they are baked in and then dusted with silver luster dust.

My daughter Madison wanted a "big pink cupcake" for her second birthday and that is what she got!! The best part about this cake was that I did the bottom in chocolate and the top in strawberry and the combo was to die for. I used a glass mixing bowl and 9 in. rounds. My favorite cake yet. I am just a mom at home with 4 small kids, cakes are something I do at like 2 in the morning when everyone else is sleeping just cause I know my kids love it!!

My oldest wanted an Iron Giant Cake for his 4th b-day. Since I wanted to make cupcakes to make it easier for the kids to eat. I came up with this design and it worked out great. Lots of B/C required, but oh so fun. The kids loved it, especially when asking for either chocolate or vanilla & they got to pick out the piece they wanted themselves. I made teacake cupcakes so they could each have 2! (cake March 2006)

This goes with the present sheet cake in my photos. This had to travel 30 miles down a grade in the heat, and we had a few accidents, lol. A lot of the icing plopped off of the cupcake, and the one purple stripe tore a bit. I hated this cake at first (mainly the colors) but now it's sort of grown on me I guess.
Bottom is chocolate fudge, middle is Hawaiian, top and cupcake are orange creamsicle.
Thanks for looking :)

I wanted to make a giant cupcake shaped cake and figured no better time to do so than my 30th birthday. I tried a new frosting and it turned out well after I tweaked it a bit. I used 2- 6in. layers and half of the sports ball pan and shaved down the sides. I think the next time I make this type of cake, I'll make it a little shorter.
I took this to my stepdad's house for dinner and he ended up knocking the cake over in the box because it was so heavy, luckily I was able to fix it.

Thanks for looking!

This was my first time using the Wilton giant cupcake pan. This is a chocolate cake, iced with BC, and filled with pudding. Nothing fancy, I know, but I wanted to give the new pan a whirl! Thanks for looking.

This was a fun cake to do, it was made for a lil girl(well yes.. since it's who was turing 1yr. old, and her mother wanted a cupcake cake. Made this with 2-10" rounds on the bottom and 2-12" -rounds craved to shape. The bottom was buttercream.. and the top was a whipped icing. The lil girl's middle name is Butterfly.. so I added a couple of them to the cake as an extra.. her mother saw the cake and started to cry.. she really loved it!! Enjoy

My first attempt at a giant cupcake cake. It turned out OK. The pan was much smaller than I thought and as other CC'ers have said, the top bakes a lot faster than the bottom.

I used Swiss Meringue Buttercream because my friend doesn't like any shortening. I don't particularly care for the taste, but its what she wanted. I had fun using the cupcake pan, it did take about 70 minutes to cook.

This was for my daughter's 2nd birthday. I kept it pretty simple since I already have to top myself every year:) I made this by stacking round cakes and carving.

I put this in the childrens section because the top stacked cake could easily be a smash cake... 5 inch "cupcake" ontop of a 7 inch round. Made it to look like a table.. All my little buggie friends are made of fondant. Springtime Fun was the theme. Thank you Wendy (dolittle) for giving me hope that I could accomplish something that I wouldn't of done otherwise. ((((hugs)))) to you my friend!!!

I got ideas from several pictures on this site. The tree is from the Giant cupcake pan with the base turned around. When I was working on it, I thought it would make a great tiki hut too. I can't wait to go to a luau. The!! The cake baked great in the pan. This was actually for a bridal shower. I didn't take pics of all the exotic animals around the sides. If I had more time, I would have put hearts on wires behind the giraffes & maybe dress up the giraffes as bride & groom.

I read about the giant roses on cupcakes, so I thought I'd try them for the bake sale at work tomorrow. I think it turned out pretty good, it's a lot of frosting though! :) Marbled cake with BC frosting.
