The unique thing of this cake is the way it is iced. From an old Celebrate Wilton book, the design uses waxed paper scallops that are attached to the tier. Once in place, the cake is re-iced in the color. The templates are removed and the ruffles are added. Tea roses are placed at the top of each garland. Pretty and elegant.

16", 10", and a 7" wedding cake.  My first one.  It has about 30 or more royal icing purple petunias on it.  The floor at the reception site was uneven so the cake leaned a bit.  It stood staight at home. I used the Wilton fountain with the cascade tier set.

This is the cake I made for my son, David's, formal wedding reception in Murry, Utah.  A few days later we had a "gathering" in Pocatello, Idaho which featured a smaller cake, and David's groom Spiderman cake.

This was adapted after a cake Tara chose from a reception magazine.  She also wanted a fountain, and I wanted it larger, so created six satellite cakes to go around it.  Alas, two of the satellites were damaged during transport. I had several sizes of pillars with me, so staggered them instead.

This wedding was done completely in red and white!  It was very beautiful.  Each cake was decorated differently (doesn't show well) and an different flavor.  For the water in the fountain, I used cherry Kool-aid (without sugar) to get the bright red color.  I really regret not having a digital camera last year due to lack of detail in the finished print.  oh well...I have it for this year!

White buttercream frosting with cascades sweet peas in two shades of purple placed around the cake as well as centers of the cakes.  The cake also has star tip designs, above garland swags topped with fleurs-de-lis and/or rosettes, all over a basic shell boarder.  Two dummy cakes on each side of the main display matched the main cake and each held a fountain containing purple water.

This is my brother and sister-in-law's wedding cake.  She and I designed this together.  It is chocolate, white and strawberry cake.  Iced in ivory BC.  The flowers were fresh pink roses. My brother made the cake toppers out of metal.  I baked this cake and made all the icing here at home and traveled 9 hours and put it all together.  On top of that, I was a bridesmaid, my 1 year old was a ring bearer, and my husband was co-officiating the wedding.  We were BUSY that weekend!  Thanks for looking!

This is my 3rd wedding cake, it was okay, but not nearly as smooth as the Wilton book was that I got this from. I guess I expect perfection in the beginning. What do you think? Comments appreciated. Thanks, Misty

I can't believe we actually did this cake!  My friend April (Ape on this forum) and I made this cake together this weekend.  Her 1st wedding cake, my 2nd.  It is butter cake with pineapple buttercream filling covered with bavarian cream icing.  The flowers on the bridge are silk and the white roses around the bottom are Wilton's lighted garland.  This cake is in the Wilton Wedding Dream Cakes book, but with peach roses.

This is a view of the back of the cake.  When we got to the receiption hall and found that the cake table was at the balconey on the 2nd floor, we had to improvise and add flowers to the back side of the bridge!

After 7yrs and 3 kids, my DH and I finally tied the knot this past Saturday. 
Here's the simple, but elegant cake that I made for our wedding.  

All white cake (16, 14, 12 , 10X3) tiers with all BC.  Wilton fancy fountain, silk flowers and wooden monogram letters that I spray painted.  

I made sure to keep the cake as simple as possible (since of course, I had plenty to worry about) and I let the presentation be what impressed people the most.

Chocolate fudge cake, buttercream icing and royal icing bluebirds. This is the cake I made for my mom for mothers day this year. She loves bird baths, bird houses, and water fountains! Can't wait to give it to her Sunday lol!

This is the first ever wedding cake that I made.  It had chocolate, white, and yellow cake.  It was frosted with bc and covered in mmf.  It was sure a learning experience, but turned out well.  Of course you always learn from the first.  I can't wait for order number 2.  If you can give any suggestions for improvement i would appreciate the input.  Thanks for looking.

This is a 6x10x14 vanilla cake with vanilla cream filling. Iced in ivory BC icing. Ivy leaves are made of Gumpaste and drop flowers are royal icing. The fountain is tinted purple---we were waiting for the extension cord!!!!

The bride informed me the wedding was at 7:30.  I get there at 5:30 to give myself 2 hours to set up, only to be met by a FRANTIC dad who told me "NO, everything STARTS at 5:30.  Don't ya know I was in a MAJOR PANIC!!!  I didn't have near the time to fix it with all the calla lillies i'd brought. I was just so disappointed with how it turned out.

Done for my brother and his new wife. I had to work really hard to get her out of the 80's. We still ended up with the fountain and stairs, but I think it worked out ok.

This is the cake that occupied my week!  I'm so glad this thing is finished.  It's not really my choice of style and I was so stressed out trying making sure I got all the plastic to the wedding!!

My rendition of wilton's "The Glow Endures". 14" round is chocolate amaretto cake with a seedless raspberry cream filling. The 10" round and the 6" round were done tiramisu style, all decorated with buttercream.  Cake topper is the chinese symbol for double happiness, a good luck symbol common in chinese weddings. The bride was Chinese.

My first wedding cake.  Luckily it was a freebie for a friend's son.  I put the 2 smal tiers together at home and they shifted a little in transport.  Luckily I was able to fix it before the bride saw it.  Lots of mistakes.

Lots of mistakes....bulging of bottom layer, scroll work not centered, frosting not thick enough on sides and had shifting of top in transit (was able to fix).  This was a freebie and I was anxious to see if I could really do something "decent"!  The bride loved it anyway (or so she said!!)  Any constructive critism would be appreciated.

This was a 3 Tier on columns...Wedding Cake. I used a heart Candy mold, and wilton White candy melts... with purple color it...and molded my own candy hearts that are used on the cake.  There are silk Flowers and white pearl fillers on the layers, as well as around the Fountain that flows with Purple Water.

I did this cake with buttercream icing, pearl accents.  The large bottom is a dummy cake as they only needed to feed 100.

12-9-6 heart shape wedding cake.  All cakes covered in white rolled fondant.  Black brushed embroidery vine and leaf designs on cake with mini 5 petal flowers and buds as accents.  Dimensional 5 petal gum paste flowers with black brush embroidery designs attached with royal icing.  Twisted pillar construction with fountain set up.  This was the most different cake I have ever made and one of the most challenging because of the black on the white--no room for mistakes since the black stains the white fondant

FIRST True Wedding Cake! My nerves were shot by the end but the client loved it.  Not sure if I want to do any more.  12", 8", 6" plus 8",6" plus 6".  All buttercream.

This was a cake for one of our teens in our church.  This is a yellow cake, grey BCI rocks, water is  blue BCI + piping gel.  The flowers are royal icing. Scripture is printed on paper and mounted on foam.

This one is 3 tiers in the middle.... then stairs going down both sides, leading to a 3 tier/layer Cake.
They wanted the Middle cakes to be WHITE, the ones on one side Chocolate, and the ones on the opposite side Strawberry.
There are white doves with pairs of gold wedding bands in various spots around these cakes!

This is the biggest cake I have made to date.  There are 10 cakes, in 5 different flavors. I spent about 2 weeks baking ahead of time, and about another week to make the fondant roses and petals, and to decorate the cakes.

This was the largest cake I've ever done.  It fed 350 people.  It was also my first time trying the impression mat (thanks to everyone in CC world who gave tips on this), and also my first time trying out filling inside the cake.  It was Strawberry and Lemon cake.

The bottom tier is actually seven 8" rounds. One is in the middle and six surrounding it. The dowels are then placed as other large tiers. It added a most unusual dimension and gave a special place to position flowers. It was also easier to serve and I didn't have to purchase a special pan for the 18" plate to sit atop.
