Made my husband's 40th birthday cake. Iced it and let the girls do what ever they wanted. He is a big Disney fan so I thought what Disney creature should go on his cake. Well since the girls did the decorating, I thought Stitch would be appropriate.

This is my 2nd cake I've ever made.It was for my bf's niece! I was pretty pleased with it, other then the fact it melted on the way and the beads were no longer beads and the cake settled more than expected and so it bulged in the middle. Oh well! I've learned a lot from this cake! :o) Thanks for looking!

Bilbo, molded from fondant, sits at his door step with his pipe and fruit from his garden to snack on. Soon, Gandalf the Grey will be there to debate the deeper meaning of the phrase, "Good morning."

Here is a close up of the fondant figure I sculpted in my father’s likeness. He’s a bit of a celebrity in this small town of around 15 people JK still, it is a small town and he is know to most folks as “Uncle Danny” He is also the lead guitarist as well as lead vocalist in a bluegrass band, hence the guitar. The figure is sculpted completely out of fondant stiffened with tylose. The trick to the eyeglasses was to find a bread tie or garbage tie (I found mine in the produce section of a local grocery store) Burn the paper off to expose the wire. Once the wire is cool, use tweezers or small needle nose pliers to twist into shape.

This is the topper my DH requested for a cake he wants to sit with his car at a car show this coming weekend. The cake will be simple 9x13 with bc icing. I will pipe a simple border around the edge of the topper. Thanks to everyone for the help, especially Doug and Aine2. I couldn't have done it without you. Everything is fondant. The green coming out from under the car is to represent antifreeze leaking out. It is made from piping gel.

My first attempt at figure molding, all done by hand. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out for my first attempt, but would do a couple of things differently next time, I think. She is made from gumpaste, but the dress, nose, and bow are fondant and the whiskers are black string licorice.
