This is the birthday cake I made for my MIL, who loves flamingos. The birds are made to look like her and my FIL. Cake is key lime pie cake with key lime buttercream. Roof is chocolate fondant and royal (and way too big!). It didn't turn out as well as I hoped, but it tasted GREAT!

I did this cake for my parents 25th Wedding Anniversay. The topper is a blown glass sculpture of 2 Flamingos head forming a giant heart. My Mom loves Flamingos so I added the sculpture on top of a revolving lighted base. The flowers were silk hair pieces. The cake was whtie cake with lemon filling and BC icing.

This one was done for a 12 yo birthday. She was very specific about what she wanted, including the flamingo in the center! I found it while on a trip to the zoo with my children. I purchased it in the gift shop for under $2! I fell in love with it, it was so realistic, and I knew it would be far better than anything I drew on the cake!

My 3 1/2 year old son wanted to make a special figure for his brother's birthday cake (my other son is turning 2 next week). He insisted on making a flamingo, so we got his little toy flamingo and I walked him through it, step by step. I told him what to make and gave him small pieces of fondant to work with and he molded everything. Then we assembled it together. He is so proud of himself!!! Now, I just have to figure out how a flamingo will fit in with the birthday theme!

The aunt said the little girl loved flamingos and pink and purple. This is what I came up with. At first I thought the colors were to bright but after I got the cake done I think it turned out cute. The cake is a fourth of a sheet, iced in buttercream with fondant accents. I hope the flamingos stay standing on the way to the party!!

This is a 2 layer 8" square spice cake with BC icing. The flamingos are piped BC, as is the BC border. The bow is fondant. This is for a co-worker's grandmother's birthday -- and grandma LOVES flamingos.

Used the Wilton dinosaur pan to make this flamingo out of buttercream, with fondant flowers. Kind of a lopsided picture, but I wanted to show the sides.

This was my first attept at an 11 x 15 cake. Done all in buttercream. It was my most detailed cake and I think my best cake so far. I think doing a drawing and asigning colors and tips beforehand really helped.

Made it for a friend at work. I was not too happy with the colors, but it was my first. I hope i do better with my next project. The cake is strawberry, and i kinda sorta forgot to do the filling. I also forgot to ice the cake before i added th fondant so i had to take the fondat off and do it over. It was a chore, but it still turned out ok.
