My DH loves fly fishing and would not be caught without his sunglasses on the stream. The whole family got a kick out of my creation. Dark choc cake layered with carmel dip, BC icing, MMF fisherman, and icecream cone trees. I really was wanting to play around with alot of different ideas.

This is for 2 twin brothers who adore fishing and camping. I used broken pieces of Cadbury Flake chocolate bar for the fire's "logs", jelly beans for the campfire "rocks", raw brown sugar for the campfire "sand" and plastic fish/trees/pop cans. The "tent" cake is about 7" tall and 12" long in fondant.

I made this cake for my brother in law, who loves to go fishing but never manages to catch anything worthwhile except for a cold or two. It was a dark choc mudcake, covered in marbled chocolate fondant, with gumpaste boot, fisherman, grass, and fish. The water is royal icing.

This Is A Birthday Cake For Someone Who Loves Fishing, The Tackle Box Is All Fondant, The Wooden Planks And Cleat & Rope Are As Well. Butter Cream Frosting Underneath. The Lady I Made This For Her Son Loves Fishing And She Was Gonna Buy Him Some Fishing Lures For His B-Day, So I Made The Tackle Box Big Enough So That She Could Actually Put The New Lures In The Tackle Box.

I made this cake in less than an hour (after baking). I was asked at the last minute to make a cake for a man that likes the mountains, fishing and camping. This is what I came up with from what I could find in the home.

This was created for a friend's birthday. It is a 2-;ayer 9 X 13 chocolate fudge cake with dark chocolate ganache filling and chocolate BC frosting on sides. Catfish head and tail were sculpted from a scrap piece of cake covered with grey and white BC with an light overspray of black. Inside of mouth was covered in white fondant and whiskers were 20 gauge wire covered in fondant. Tail was covered in fondant. Very happy with how this turned out--better than the one in my head.

I did this cake for my Dad for his b-day. I'd never done a fish cake before, this is the first, it's what he wanted for his cake though! I probably shouldnt' have done the border under the face, it turned out sort of looking like a mustache lol!

My brother loves EVERYTHING hunting and fishing so I suprised him with this cake...It is a chocolate cake with MMF, the knife and lure are also mmf. I really needed a bigger pan, but oh well. I got the idea from another user here. Sorry i can't remeber the name...but THANKS!! He loved it!

Idea from the 2005 Wilton yearbook ~ "Big Fin-ish!" w/o the stacked cake underneath. I did not have time to let the fondant fins dry, so I used construction paper and toothpicks. Makes for a lighter cake. I used the sports ball pan with the "Super Enhanced Cake Formula" (using a lemon cake mix) and Carol's "Lemon Frosting" recipes from this site. YUM!

This was a cake to honor a "sturgeon enthusiast". We think they look "prehistoric", but this one was kind of like a cute/baby sturgeon fish. It was only about 6" long. A very fun cake, decorated with buttercream & most of it painted on to smooth-out, which also gave it the "wet" look, since water was involved & then looked "wet/shiny" once it started to defrost! Thanks for looking!

I had an hour to do this cake at last minute. Didn't have time to get detailed or make a million colors of frosting. I only used kelly green, royal blue, and orange colors. It was all done with the grass tip, 233, tip 3 and tip 16. It was fun to do. They wanted fishing and since it was a last minute they didn't care what it looked like. I wish I had crumcoated the kelly green under the grass...but they laughed and said it looked like the dirt under the grass in their yard!!!

I made this cake in class. We were to pick somthing our husbands enjoy doing. You guessed, my husband loves fishing. And where we fish here in Louisiana there are alligators. This was a fun cake, to make. Unfortunately it stayed in my car too long and the heat made the layers start to slide.

My attempt at making a realistic fish - went with the easy end!! Ha! Ha!
This is for a friend who loves to fish. The "water" was meant to be a kinda murky pond water color. This was colored piping gel. His little girl said, "I want some cake, but I don't want any relish on it." Relish?!! Well, I guess it does look like relish.

Cake is chocolate with chocolate ganache filling and chocolate icing. Fishing figure and fishing basket are made from gumpaste. The pole and line are made from gumpaste and florist wire. Rocks are fondant. I made this for a friend's husband who adores fly fishing. It says, "Have a "reely" happy birthday...
