This cake was one of the most stressful endeavors I have undertaken in a long time! A close friend asked me to make her daughter's first birthday cake. A 12" chocolate cake with white chocolate icing. I've never made a 12" cake nor made white chocolate icing. Anything that could go wrong, did go wrong! But in the end my friend loved the cake and her guests raved about it. I have to send a quick thanks to blittle6 for her white chocolate crusting BC recipe!

I was asked to do a cake from the Hugs & Stitches invitations, and got all excited, and then all the mom wanted was polka dots on the cake. Doh, how boring! So, I had a little fun with the smash cake instead and made a little rocket. :) Thanks for looking!

I'm creating a portfolio with a whole bunch of my cake pictures and i'm taking this Christmas break to kind of "fill in the blank spots" of the sections in my portfolio with no pictures...I think it's easier for someone to order if they see how u work...
This is my practive communion cake for a girl...thanks for looking

This is the first wedding cake that I did in class. I'd love to get some honest opinions. One day I hope to own my own business. I used fondant and real flowers.

I finally did it and made my very first decorated buttercream icing cake. I am very pleased with it (considering I am such a perfectionist). I don't even care about the flaws in it! Thank you everyone for all your help! You're the best. I could not have done it without all of you!!!

Colors for this cake were taken from the napkin and party supplies. The topper is real balloons.

This is for my niece. It is an 8" square marbled cake, iced in all buttercream. This is another version of the Hugs and Stitches cakes that others have done.

Thanks for looking!

This was a yellow cake (made for my son's first Birthday) all covered with marshmallow fondant. This was my first time making a tier cake and my first experience with fondant. The candle is the only thing not made from fondant.

This cake looked fine...until I moved it! :-( The arms are just icing and one side fell almost completely off! I fixed it for now but somehow this cake has to travel a whole hour tomorrow and I am just not sure if its going to make it. Its a large cake. The structure is sturdy but the icing is not so durable.

This is a cake I made for my twin boys first birthday. We were celebrating a few birthdays so I made this just for them to dig in to. It was a huge mess, but they had so much fun and loved the cake. Thanks for looking!

This is my first cake. It was for my daughters first birthday with the "pink poodle" theme. It is a chocolate and vanilla layered cake. 3 layers in each tier. I used fondant to cover, do the stripes, polka dots and dog bones. I used chocolate molds for the letters attached with pipe cleaners.

This was the cake I did for my daughter Rory's first birthday. She absolutely LOVED it, and she got a smash cake of her own. I had absolutely no plan whatsoever, so I just picked some cute colors, mixed them up, sat down and kinda worked from there. That's normally the best way for me to do it!
It's Lemon cake with bc icing, all decorations are hand drawn.
Thanks for looking!!

One more toothpick drawn cake from years ago...the ladybug in the center is actually a little removable "smash cake" on its own little tiny cake board.

This is my first attempt at topsy turvy. As you can tell I did the bottom layer first, (not as pretty as the top) This was a family event, my husband and Son were supposed to make it all but husband had a mid term so I made the cake, frosting, fondant, sugar sticks and floss and assembled the cake and they did decorations.

Here's the real picture. Sorry about the 1/2 eaten one I uploaded by mistake. This was my first every attempt at cake decorating. I'm not sure why I didn't chose something a little easier. I spent three weeks practicing with it before my son's first birthday.

My grandson's first birthday which was last Saturday. There is a story behind this cake; last week as you know was my first wedding cake and I had to do three others also. Well, in the mist of things I completely forgot my grandson's most important day (I know, I'm a bad grandma) his first birthday. His mom never bothered to tell me that she would need a cake for this weekend until Friday morning just when I'm getting ready to leave to go out of town for the day. So, all I could do was this simple cake.

This is 19 cupcakes that I put together with 5oz solo cups, plastic plate and ruffle trim. Put each cupcake in cup then ice all with buttercream. air brush with pastel colors add sprinkles then add baby decor. Banner was made on my computer. Just pull each cupcake out to serve, no mess, no plates and no cutting.

I went to my first Wilton class this week and decided to go ahead and make a cake! It's not perfect but I'm pretty happy with it. I wish I had positioned the butterflies differently, but live and learn! I used Viva and a hot spatula to smooth the BC and used a small star tip to fill in the butterflies and to do the stars at the bottom.

This was his first cake, he loves to decorate and cook with me. He says he is going to be a chef when he grows up. He is five and has more patience than I.

Done for a little girl's 1st Birthday. The main cake and smash cake were done to coordinate with the tableware (napkin shown). The flower and "1" are FBCT's.
