This is the same cake I also uploaded to the "Truck" category, but this is a different view (other side). I made a kit of this cake to give to my
Course 2 students (I teach the Wilton Method of cake decorating). The store I teach in sells my kits too. This takes a bit of effort with all the royal icing parts and color flow parts and to build the special raised base, but the results are worth the effort!

Witch (made using Wilton's wonder mold) stooped over a swirling cauldron. Cauldron made from two bowl shaped cakes. Brew is made of a base of marblized green and white royal icing topped with clear piping gel. Candy bones are submerged and floated on top of brew. Sugar cone witches hat airbrushed black and trimed in royal icing. Flames made with a striped piping bag technique then dusted with orange and red luster dusts. Witch is flanked by marshmallow pumkins and ghosts.

The flames are yellow MMF with red color mist. This was fun and pretty easy. The "firewood" were pretzal rods.

This cake was a last minute thing I did for my friend's 43rd. bday. I got the idea from a cake on this site, of course!
It was a lemon cake with raspberry filling. I took the picture at home so I couldn't light the candles for it (for effect) but, hopefully, I'll get the picture that was taken at the party.

1/2 yellow sheet cake buttercream frosting.

Unfortunately you cannot really see the detail on Vader in this picture. I learned a lot from this cake! Like 'corners'.

Hand-carved cake (I didn't have a bowl the right shape - ugh!) covered in chocolate fondant which I colored black. Made for my twin nephews' third birthday, along with the fire truck cake.

Thank you Debbie aka thecakemaker for the inspiration! I wish mine had turned out as well as yours!

Carved from a 15x11 sheet cake, iced in buttercream. Most decorations were made ahead out of royal icing. Base is styrofoam, wheels are doughnuts. Details painted with silver luster dust.

Thanks to everyone who has a fire truck cake in the galleries, you were ALL inspiration for me!

3D fire truck cake done for my 2yo's BDay. My husband is a firefighter so I received many comments on what was missing... It is complete with hoses made from Bubble Tape, gauges, and even windshield wipers and rearview mirrors.

This was one of two cakes I decorated for a surprise birthday cake for two guys. The both started out as truck drivers and now one is a fireman. The other cake has big rigs and road signs on it.

This was made for my best friend's baby shower in 2003. It was all bc and I used the firetruck pan. This was a big hit at the shower because it is so bold and the shower was all primary colors with firetruck stuff! (This theme was chosen by the mom-to-be since this is how the nursery was decorated!)

A sheet cake for a firefighter benefit meal. I agonized over what to put on it that would be simple. At the very last minute, I copied the fire hydrant on our corner. I thought it looked pretty good considering how easy it was and how much I worried over it.

I made this for a local volunteer fire dept. They held a fund raising auction to raise money for a new fire truck. This cake sold for $380.00. I was pretty excited about that. It's choc. fudge carved from an 11 x 15 pan divided and stacked. The ladder is sugar paste and the extinguisher on other side was plastic. Hubby made the fire house out of card board. Not bad for a guy, huh?

I made this cake for a friend's little boy. I used two loaf pans and cut one in half to make the cabin. I used fondant for the icing and the decorations. The ladder is made from white chocolate traced onto wax paper.

8" chocolate cake filled with raspberry buttercream, covered in fondant. Figures are fondant and the flames are buttercream. This cake was a donation to the Camp BUCKO silent auction held in honour of fallen Fire Fighter Bill Wilkins. The figures are taken from The Sculpey Way with Polymer Clay.

Here is a fire engine I did for my 3 year old son's birthday. I ran out of time (as usual!) and didn't get to do it justice. Good news is my son loved it anyway.
