This is my fair entry that I dropped off last night for the novelty cake/other division. It was supposed to be another bushel of crabs cake but I ran out of time to make the crabs. I had made the leaves last Thanksgiving to make a turkey cake that never got made so I improvised!

This was my first try with MMF and I loved it. My only question do you get all the cornstarch off? Mine still wanted to show - should I have spritzed it with a light mist of water? Tips, please!!!

OK,bottom cake is two 1/2 sheetcakes, one chocolate, one one up is white, then yellow on the last two cakes...It turned out pretty nice for only having fall leaves on it... my basket weave didn't show up as well when I resized my photo to fit on here...LOL...anyways you can see what it looked like..

Wow...was this cake ever chocolate! The tiers were Dark Chocolate cake with Raspberry Buttercream, Dark Chocolate Cake with Bailey's Buttercream and Dark Chocolate Cake with Mint-Chocolate Buttercream...all iced in Milk Chocolate Buttercream.
The leaves were all molded in coloured chocolate pellets and the shavings were bought from a local chocolate shop.

This was my first ordered cake. A stacked birthday cake for a Thanksgiving Birthday. "Happy Birthday" was written in snow white detail on all four sides of the bottom layer. Fondant pearls with Copper Luster Dust. The cake was Autumn Spice.

These are a few cakes that I did with a Fall theme. All buttercream other than the acorns which were done in chocolate MMF and topped with buttercream. The leaves on the top two cakes were silk that I found on sale at a discount store. The bottom made from buttercream.

Buttercream "fondant" rolled out thick & cut out with various leaf cookie cutters. Pressed in the "veins" with rounded end of a small artist brush. Pressed leaves into a "pile" over a chocolate iced 2 layer 8 inch round cake. ( First time trying the rolled buttercream "fondant" ).

The pic of this isn't so great, it's pretty dark. But this is just one I made last fall for my youngest sons school, one of a few I made, for their bake sale. I wish I had iced it in green so it would have looked like grass, instead of just putting the green around the bottom for border. I'll know next time lol

Simple fall leaves border for a Fall Bazaar setup evening event. This is a full sheet size made from two half sheets. It was a lot of work and hazzle and I pray that it doesn't crumble before tomorrow evening. I will not be making a cake of this size again for a long time. All buttercream and a yellow cake. There was also a half sheet chocolate cake with buttercream as well.

This cake was made for a bridal shower for a fall wedding. They just wanted a sheet cake with fall leaves and no writing. Leaves are oak and maple made out of gum paste, frosted with BC.

I was having trouble coming up with something creative. So the client just said to say "Happy Birthday" on it, and decorate it somehow....maybe "flowers for guys". I thought a fall theme might be more masculine, and since the cake had chocolate frosting it worked out well. Merckens candy melts dripping down the side. Bottom border alternating colors leaves.

this was an experiment, and just for practice. Leaves are chocolate melts brushed onto washed and dried real leaves. Leaves were then peeled off. I don't think I would serve this to anyone but family, or at the very least, I would take the leaves off before serving. First time I tried swirls...they didn't come out very well. Rose is a tootsie roll rose.

Fall themed cookies. These were a lot of fun. The possiblities are limitless when it comes to decorating cookies and cakes...what an underappreciated art form! I love it!

I wish the bears would have shown up better in this pic. They were so cute. The couple is getting married in Gaitlinburg and the client who ordered it is a coworker hosting a shower. Wanted fall leaves and drawn on bears on the cake. Was extremely thrilled with the handmade bears instead. White cake with pineapple filling. I loved my shimmery leaves.

This was a very large wedding; just about killed me! There were 11 cakes in all. All of them were different flavors! The biggest cake weighed in at about a hundred pounds. (kidding) It took me and my husband and the florist to get it on the posts! The leaves were MMF and the tiny flowers were royal. The buttercream was tinted ivory.

This is one of my favorites, so pleased with how it turned out & it was super easy! Ivory buttercream icing, silk floral decoration. I used the champagne cake recipe on this site, which was good but we couldn't taste the champagne (should have added some champagne to the frosting). I had a few comments that it had a sugar cookie flavor- it was yummy! This was for my sister-in-law's rehearsal dinner.

I took a very beginner decor cake class. Learned to use the shell, leaves and writing tips. Pretty fun. Cake theme is based on the book my son loves called Fall is not easy by Marty Kelley.

This is another Kahlua cake with coffee buttercream, and decorated with a little chocolate fudge icing. The leaves are fondant because I was too lazy to go out and buy gumpaste. They are painted with several different different mixtures of luster dusts.
