May daughters 13th Birthday. She picked out the fairy figurines and designed the look of her cake. I did my best to execute it. I think it's her favorite cake so far. It has rock candy for the cobblestone walk, fondant flowers, and wafer butterflies with edible glitter.

Most of the decoration on this cake was made of candy clay. This cake was so much fun to make. Tinker bell face was hard to do, but tried my best. :)

This is my 22nd Annual 2005 San Diego Cake Club's Cakes on Parade Cake Contest entry in the Scuplture category. This cake didn't place in the top 3 but I got soooo many inquiries and postive comments on it. Appearently the crowds and my fellow decorators loved it, just not the judges. This was an engineering feat getting the flower bowl to stay on top of the "batter pour". Decorated in fondant, gumpaste, pastillage, royal icing, rice paper, and lots of pearl, luster dusts, and edible glitter.

Made for a competition. A novelty cake made from a 6 inch round cake, sculpted to make the large toadstool, then the crunbs used to shape the smaller toadstools. The fairies, butterflies and bunny are made from modeling paste.

This is my take on Debbie Brown's "Dancing Princesses". I wanted to make a fairy cake - and love this idea as all the girls at the party gets to go home with their own fairy - as well as having cake at the party!

A HUGE thank you to Jelena for the how-to on making the wings on my "Fairy babies"!! I couldn't have thought that one up on my own! First time trying the butterflies fromt the how-to on the site-really simple!! Turned out great-my client is going to flip. I am really happy w/how this turned out..usually I find something not to like, but I am thrilled w/this one. Bottom tier (in green) is a dummy-the pink layers are cake :)

3-tiered chocolate and vanilla cake with chocolate and vanilla buttercream filling, buttercream roses, ribbons and tassel made from MMF / gumpaste mixture, graduation cap is a 6-inch cake and cake board covered in chocolate clay. Client requested some type of panda figurine, so I made a choc. chip cookie dough (w/out the chips) and "painted" it with royal icing.

My daughter's only wish was that she had a BIG cake and it had to be Winx Club in some way! I wanted it to be very girly just like her - 6in lemon top tier, 8in chocolate middle tier and the 10in bottom tier is strawberry - all from scratch with matching buttercream fillings. Whole cake is covered in homemade rolled fondant with edible disco glitter on the cut-outs and the wired topper. Winx fairies were bought (as part of her birthday gifts!). Borders are royal icing.

For a second marriage. This couple was into fairies and fantasy. How fun!

This cake is actually a complete copy of their invitation, which I will post here too. Mushrooms, fairies, flowers are all in gumpaste. Cake in IMBC buttercream.

Tinkerbell is a fbct. White edible dust is sprinkled over the cake and roses. Super Pearl Dust is used to make her look like she is sprinkling dust on the flower she is holding. The colors are dark purple and light violet...my camera made the colors look blue.

Every single fairy is different - wish I could have shown you all of them individually - they are so cute! I'm sure it's a good thing I have forgotten how long it took me ... at least now whenever I look at the picture I smile :)

The cake is a pineapple/coconut (pina colada). Filling is crushed pineapple mixed w/pineapple/coconut BC, then topped with toasted coconut. Iced w/BC pineapple/coconut then covered in pale green fondant. Leaves were drawn & colored w/gels. Large fairy is fondant. Embossers were used for woodland fairies and toadstools. This was my b'day cake; reason being a couple very dear to me gave me the woodland embossers & also loves autumn leaves.

detail of my Silver winner at the OSSAS. There were three faeries hiding in the cake. One was stealing a coin, one was pulling a shamrock out of the bouquet, and one was napping under the hankie.

This was actually my daugther's baptism cake. The theme was fairies and, even though there is nothing religious about it, it went well with the decor and everything else. The cake is not perfect (that's what happens when you bake at someone else's houe) but I liked the overall look of it.

Courtesy of Debbie Brown's party cakes. The ideal solution when pushed for time! I changed it just a little making a different pathway and adding flowers and sparkle.
