Saw the Elvis cookies on CC and thought I would give a try on my mother's bday cake. It was such a hit--only problem was that no one wanted to cut it.

I made this cake for my step-sister's big 50. She is a huge elvis fan! Cake is iced with a whipped topping. I hand drew the picture and then transferred it onto the cake with a kopykake frosting sheet, then filled in with gels. She didn't want to cut it!

This is my first FBCT. I layed it on top of rolled fondant. Hmmm... One thing I know to do better for next time is to smooth it out more. Thanks so much to gdixoncakes for all her help with making Elvis easier to do !!! I kinda proud of this one (first time Ive ever said that !!)

I got this idea from Mac on here. (thank you so much for your help and the pattern). I did his face as a BCT. My first try at one! Also, the cake has musical notes all around the cake in black and white. It is a pale pink cake. This picture really doesn't do this cake any justice at all. We'll see just how the birthday girl likes it tonight. I still need to work on my BCTs and my handwriting some more. Well- everything. Practice makes perfect. Thank you all for viewing. Please leave comments-

My friend loves Elvis and had a big 50th birthday bash, with Elvis impersonator and everything! He loved his Elvis silhouette cake.

A fun cake. Picking the right photo of Elvis was the toughest part! I had a graphic designer get the image just right for me and then I took it to a grocery store bakery to be printed on edible paper. It's all fondant. I used clear vanilla instead of vodka to paint on the gold lustre dust.

Ordered by my aunt for her friend/co-worker who turned 60 yesterday and is a HUGE Elvis fan. My aunt, her friend, and co-workers absolutely loved it. Done in white cake with buttercream frosting. Elvis is in colorflow and the records on the side are fondant. The records have Elvis song titles written in edible marker.

As you can tell, I need work on my color flow. This is the first time I've done it since my Wilton class last fall. Any suggestions/helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.

I was asked to create a cake fro a co-worker's Mom. She said that she liek 50's music. The rest was all creation. I made everything from fondant except the album cover which i printed on photo paper, folded and glued to look like album covers. This cake was such a joy to see come together. Needless to say my co-workers Mom was very pleased. she wondered how I knew she used to lay the floor and listen to records

I am a self taught cake decorator. I work at a local bakery. This is all buttercream. I have access to an airbrush and used it on the bottom of cake. The image is edible. She's an Elvis fan so that's what I went with.

For a 50th birthday--she loved Elvis and card-playing, so that is how I came up with the colors/theme. I should have made Elvis bigger, or his signature, but ended up with white space because I was not wanting to do any of the phrasing on the bottom due to the signature. Oh well. It was still a hit.

I just finished this one a couple of hours ago for my b-i-l's b-day. We'll be serving it on Thanksgiving since his actual b-day is 12/2 but he'll be flying in for the holiday. It's my 2nd FBCT ever. I think it's good, but was extremely worried when I made the cake as the bottom of the pan was where all the apple slices and cooked liquid (spices) were; so that's (now the top) where I had to frost and place the FBCT. It worked out, but was difficult getting a smooth layer with the cinnamon bc under Elvis.

This was my most fun cake I've ever done. Also the most elaborate. Lots of detail. Chocolate cake filled with ganache and choc. buttercream. Covered in fondant with gumpaste, candy and royal icing decorations. Oh and inspired by my idol Kate Sullivan.

I deleted the first one to put this close-up in. This was for a benefit concert themed around Elvis and his songs, with an Elvis impersonator. The face profile was done with color-flow and the other decorations were using easy marshmallow fondant recipe. For the 'records' I put symbols instead of letters for songs titles, ex: blue shoes. This was lots of FUN!

I did this for my mom's birthday. She loves Elvis. I had some issues with the cake not rising, then the black icing wasn't cooperating when I was trying to write, and as I was finishing my 5 month old decided to start screaming. I am very happy with the way it turned out even though it isn't perfect. Thank you Sugar_Plum_Fairy for your help!

I made this cake for a co-worker, it is yellow cake with white buttercream frosting. It's hard to see the detail because of the light color. This was alot of fun to make & she loved it.

This was inspired by getfrosted's cake. Thanks! This cake was a pain from the start! Everything that could go wrong did. Sure learned a lot of what not to do.
This is for my aunt's 80th birthday. She Loves Elvis and is in his fan club.

I made this cake for the county fair last year (2006). I was so thrilled it was the grand champion cake of the whole cake decorating entries. It's 11x15 with buttercream icing, fbct of Elvis- I traced the picture from an album cover, and fondant accents.
