These are vanilla and chocolate cakes, 1/2 with creamy buttercream and the other half with almond cream cheese frosting. Figures were made with semi-sweet and white chocolate clays (homemade using corn syrup), colored with wilton gel coloring. I don't have "appropriate" tools yet, so I used what I could find in the kitchen - mostly a paring knife and a bbq lighter. These were fun to make and were a hit at a little girl's birthday.

3D Fish Cake!! This is a Red Velvet cake carved out of a 12x18 sheet cake, with candy clay details! The icing is actually my Grandma's Red Velvet cake icing, a fluffy, buttery vanilla icing, so you will notice that it's not smooth like my buttercream usually is, and can't be colored like buttercream can! But it is so delicious!! The fish was colored by lightly airbrushing and then blending the color in! This cake was for my Father-in-Laws birthday and he is a huge fisherman! He had no problem cleaning and eating this fish!

Despicable Me, Minion cake! All edible, buttercream with candy clay handmade decorations on a 10in round 2 layer cake! Gru is sitting on one of the birthday boy's cupcakes he stole, but then tried to make up for it by the mini cupcake he's holding! The background of the cake was inspired by Gru's Laboratory and the game Minion Rush.
