I wanted to try two-toned roses and a basketweave. So I asked my husband to watch the kids and I tried it out. The cake is very plain but I thought it was okay for my first try. Everything is buttercream.

Easiest cake I have ever made, yet people love it! The truck was a dumptruck I bought at a store. The cake is the dirt that the truck is dumping. The cake board was brown sugar. I have to thank my husband for this idea. Anyone, yes ANYONE can make this cake!

okay, so this one was inspired by stvsbabygirl. My daughter saw it while I was looking for ideas for my fair project! She had to do it. She did so well! There were supposed to be vienna fingers standing up on the back row, but we had problems getting them to stay there so we just left them off. Chocolate cake with buttercream and chocolate fudge icing! Sprinkles, candy corn, icecream cone for hat, fruit by the foot for beard, Black fondant and gummy fruit! Entered into our local fair...2 days til results!

The bride requested a simple grooms cake to place her funny topper. The colors of the hearts matched the bride's cake and the flowers are also a match.

This is a quick snapshot of my Halloween cake. It would have been a better picture if I would have taken it once I placed it on the glass cake tray. This cake was not perfect but all of my lil' ghost and goblins loved it at the Halloween Party.

Cooked in a simple loaf tin. Really easy - red butter icing (use 'Christmas Red paste colouring or it comes out pink!) and white or blue for the windows; jelly sweets for lights (I've also used M&Ms but the colour bleeds after a few hours); Kit kats for the bumpers; chocolate coins for the wheels. I drew the ladder on baking sheet paper & piped melted chocolate. shop bought letters for speed here, (the piping here is the Chinese character for fire since we are in Hong Kong)

I wanted to share my baby shoe pattern. It is a good pattern for a beginner because that is what I am!
I made them from all fondant but now I would make them 50/50 fondant gumpaste.
You can see them in my gallery if you want to see the finished product ...it is the pair of white shoes not the single one..that was the bad prototype...
I hope you enjoy the pattern and if you have questions, please give me a shout.

Got a little inspiration from a SnowBall Flower Shrub we have. Made this cake for my sister when she was in town. Didn't feel like messing with colors plus in a bit of a hurry to get the cake done. Hard to see because all in white but was really quite pretty in person and sooo easy..

I made this cake for a last day of school party at my school. The sky is made with sky blue MM fondant. There is a trick I used to get that color swirl. When you knead the coloring in, do not knead it completely. The sun is made with yellow colored buttercream. The sand is made by laying more buttercream over the layer that is used to stick the MMF and sprinkling cinnamon sugar. Enjoy!

I demonstrated how to make these during the 2007 San Diego County Fair this year, I had 1 hour. Most of these were made per request from children in the audience. If you can make a ball out of fondant, you can make these! I got these ideas from polymer clay books!

I made this for Christmas last year. I didn't quite know how to make the penguins so I took the Wilton penguin mini-cutter & cut out thick pieces of black fondant. Then I rolled white out real thin, cut out more penguins & cut out the belly & glued that on the black penguin. Added eyes from pinches of fondant. Let dry then stood up in royal icing "drops". Thanks for looking.

The toys and baby items around the edge of the cake and around the baby I bought at the Dollar Tree. I piped the blanket in basket weave(my first attempt at it) on a piece of plastic wrap then drapped it over the baby then piped the edge to cover up the extra plastic wrap.

This cake I did for lifelong friends of the family. Watched the groom grow up. This cake only took me 2 hours to bake and make frosting, and about 2 hours to frost. The bride didn't want anything elaborate, just plain with a pearl/bead border. Mother of the groom did the flowers. The only thing I wasn't too happy about was the cake was Red Velvet and there were a few spots near the top edges that started to bleed through the butterceam. Turned those areas to the back. :)

I made this for my son's B-day at the cottage... all I had was two round pans, cupcake tins and a butter knife. It is covered with buttercream and candy accents. Around the cake is hand molded chocolate gold coins and silver shells that I made at home before we left. I love the way it turn out... you know for not having much to work with.
Cheers,
ally

I wanted to try something similar to Cakery's cakes...I love her borders! So I made this for my husband's birthday. This took no time at all to decorate so it was nice to do something that was simple and easy. Banana cake with strawberry filling. TFL

One of the easiest cakes ever! I needed a small, very quick pirate cake for a 7-year old’s birthday, searched the galleries and fell in love with the design by srmaxwell – so this is virtually the same cake. Chocolate cake, with chocolate pastry crème filling and chocolate buttercream frosting, all covered in fondant. Thanks a bunch for the inspiration, srmaxwell!!!
