Cake made for a family party on Easter afternoon. I was dying to make a basket cake and what better way to do it than to have the Easter bunny brought in a basket. I had to draw the rabbit myself because I couldn't find one that I really liked to put inside the basket..it is a BCT.

I did this for a family get together. I used cookie cutters to make outline the animals and eggs, then used star technique to fill in. I added jelly beans in the "grass"

Here's my version! I made a rope handle out of fondant for the handle but it didn't dry in time. Cake is 10" 2 layer vanilla with BC. I used the mini bear for the bunny, fondant ears, paw pads, and facial details. Chocolate eggs, fondant basket with jellybeans.

The Aunt sent an image of an Easter Basket that she wanted exactly like it on the cake. This is what I came up with.

I did this cake for our monthly birthdays in the office. I forgot to take a picture at home, so by the time I got it to the office I had smashed a part of the basketweave. The handle is fondant and the eggs in the basket, I used the mini egg pan.

Devils food cake with bc. Marshmallow eggs and jellybeans. The handle is made out of colored pipe cleaner. The bunny I picked up at the local grocery for $1.00. I made this cake for a friends class she teaches at church. This is my first basketweave and roping.

Buttercream basketweave, decorated with tinted coconut, jelly beans, peeps, fondant banner and fondant handle. The handle did not come out as I envisioned it would. That's a tricky one!

This was done for my daughter's preschool party. I didn't do much detail, as I was working with leftover colors I had on hand.

This is my Easter Basket cake, the cake is 7 layers of double chocolate all torted and filled with french vanilla buttercream. The basket weave is chocolate fudge in two shades, the top was then covered in moss green buttercream leaves with parsley stuck just into the tips so the icing won't pick up a parsley flavor. I covered the cake board in silk ferns and some green silk leaves. The bunnies are salt and pepper shakers that I got as a gift for my sister since she's having the Easter dinner at her house.

I got the idea from one of my Wilton Books and made it in record speed. It was a last minute cake. It was also the first time I ever tried the basket weave techinique. It was a lot harder than I thought! Need more practice. I covered my weave mistakes with the flowers!

I made all the decorations with candy & MMF. Cut MMF with cookies cutters and airbrushed. Cake is iced with buttercream and I used impression mat (first time) on the sides. Handle is wired ribbon. This was a donation that was raffled off for the cancer society.

Just a chocolate cake with pink colored buttercream icing. The bunny is fondant and the eggs and handle are gum paste. This cake was a pain. The handle wouldnt stay up and to top it off when I walked out the door it fell on the porch-lol. But here it is. Haha.

I did this cake for Easter with my husband's family and for our niece's an my father-in-laws birthdays. It was the first time I've ever used a novelty pan or covered a cake in stars. Everything is fake - the cake was a Devilsfood mix, the Bavarian Cream filling was out of a plastic tube, and icing was Wilton Buttercream out of a five-pound bucket at Hobby Lobby. Please feel free to email me at ohbucko@aol.com, just put WHO WANTS CAKE in the subject line please.

This is also my 2nd Wilton's Cake Decorating Class. This was kind a hard on the hand but I managed to decorate it beautifully. A Basket of flowers nice for Easter or Mother's Day.

This cake has chocolate eggs (candy melt), green tinted coconut, and royal icing handle. I particularly like the basketweave as it maked it look like an easter basket.
