Colorful cupcakes and three individual 6in square cakes decorated in Seuss character Color Flow. This was a joint birthday party for 3 children, so they chose their favorite Seuss book for their cake decoration. My very creative sister-in-law created the cupcake tower out of pvc pipes and trays. I chose to do minimal cake decoration on the kids individual cakes because the table set up was the true eye grabber. (You should have seen the outdoor decorations!!!)

Vanilla cake tinted green and iced with buttercream. Eggs are gumpaste and fondant. Only my second carved cake made for a class of first graders to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday. Thanks to those ahead of me for inspiration and DH who sliced off most of the back end when I was scared to! LOL!

'Cat in the Hat' cupcakes I made for my son's preschool class to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday. Buttercream frosting with sprinkles and a MMF hat. I wish I wouldn't have added the sprinkles around the cupcake...I think it takes away from the hat....

I made "green egg" cupcakes for my son's class--the "ham" is made from RKT. The "hats" are NFSC. Thanks all you CCers for the fun inspiration

I loved making this cake, just disapointed that the words melted away. I had painted them on. The bottom book had said "Green Eggs and Haven" (the expected baby's name), and the top book had said "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, New Fish". The fish bowl is a real bowl filled with isomalt and a gumpaste fish.

Did this for my sons kindergarten class for Dr.Seuss' birthday. This was my first "TALL" cake...and was way harder than I expected. (I think i will stick to tiered cakes) It was 5 6in cakes stacked with buttercream and covered in fondant....all the details were fondant. I learned A LOT doing this cake....

I had to try this on my own since I couldn't find a class to teach me. The client wanted buttercream, so I had to give them what they wanted.

This was my entry in this year's "Let Them Eat Cake" in Philadelphia, which is a charity cake competition/cake tasting event. The theme for this year was "A Wedding through a Child's Eyes" and I love Dr. Seuss so this is what I came up with, complete with Whoville wedding couple. I had fun with it! Didn't win anything, but it was fun! Fishbowl and tiers are dummies (top tier is real cake)...figurines made of gumpaste...and Cat and Fish are rice krispy treats.
