This is the cake I made for my daughter's 3rd birthday. It was the first time I had used fondant and I think it turned out pretty well. The cakes are coated in buttercream and the board is covered in fondant as well. Sorry about the ugly workboard I had to make last minute structural renforcements my tree was a little top heavy.

Made for a little explorer! Hand painted green turtle with Diego figurine. I tried to make it as realistic as possible, except for the colour, which I made bright green because it was a child's cake. She was very excited to see it.

I think it turned out okay, considering I only had an hour to decorate the cakes before people came over (time mix up: ahhh!)

My first sheet cake. I borrowed this idea fromTat. Chocolate devil food and yellow cake double layers filled with BC. Edible Diego image. Needs some work but overall I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Mother loved it which makes me feel good. Comments welcome and appreciated.

This was my first attempt at using my little projector and airbrush together. I intended for the lettering to be a little wonky, but things kinda got away from me! Fun experiment though, and the little boy loved it even with my wonky letters.

I made this as a little "smash-me" cake for my friend's son's 2nd b-day...I used the mini 3D stand-up bear pan from Wilton and extended the legs with icing...little carving is needed for anyone wanting to give it a try...I got the idea from Viki - Thanks

Preschool bday cake for my niece and 4 classmates. I wasn't even going to attempt writing all their names on this half-sheet, so I made chocolate balloons with their names on it instead. My SIL will insert the balloons into the cake at the party. Hope she gets a good pic for me! Dora, Diego, and Boots are fbct's. Cake iced with Pastry Pride.

This cake was made for my 4 year old granddaughter. She told me it had to be Dora and Diego and they HAD to be waving. It also HAD to be purple and pink.

i wasn't going to post this cake because i totally stole EVERYTHING from stacymarie. but i spent so much time on it, how could i not post? the rocks are store-bought (basically giant jellybeans) and i recommend tip #352 to do the leaves on the trees. thanks to stacymarie for the inspiration and everyone on this site for all your great ideas!

I wanted to do this a bit different from my first Diego cake. I don't like doing the exact same cake twice if I can help it. Just a 11 in. cake covered in BC and fondant accents, board covered in royal icing. Anh from cakesbyAnh was such a great help with the waterfall technique, although this was my first time doing the waterfall that way and it's gonna take some practice, she was wonderful with the directions.

For a little boy who loves Diego (Dora the Explorer's cousin, for those of you without children 5yo or younger) and his little friend, Baby Jaguar. The whole top of the cake (8") is a FBCT, then I piped over the letters again and added the leaves/plants. It's supposed to be in the mid-90's (Farenheit) when they pick this up tomorrow, hope the transfer doesn't bleed too much!

I made this cake for my nephew. I posted it before, but it was really too small to see, so hopefully this time it's better. Any thoughts/suggestions welcome!

This is the side view of the cake for my nephew, before I took it to my sister's house. It's my second attempt at a stacked cake. I think it turned out ok. My favorite part is the waterfall, and of course, my nephew's reaction when he saw it!

Lemon BC w/yellow cake and strawberry BC w/chocolate cake. Figurines are toys and "rocks" are milk duds. Fastest cake ever! For a birthday at the park - yeah for no cutting utensils!
