We had a camo-themed party for my hunting-obsessed husband's 50th birthday - everyone either wore their camos or we had camo-colored kerchiefs on a table by the front door. Butter cakes with buttercream icing. The top cake is the Wilton Rudolph pan, and the bottom is 14' round.

My 9 yr old son made this for the state fair. Cookie had to be 6" - 8" and decorated with all edible materials. He made the deer with chocolate, spread on the sky and piped the grass. Judging is tomorrow - wish him luck!

This is a cake I made for my boss's birthday yesterday. It's dark chocolate ganache over a double fudge cake with Nutella cream cheese filling. The "woods" are honey wheat pretzel rods dipped in chocolate.

This was for a friend's bday. He, obviously, loves to hunt. We were invited over for his bday on the spur of the moment and my husband asked if I would make a cake for him...Don't you just love those hubby's?! At any rate, this is not one of my best doings, the writing absolutly was awful, but I was exhausted by that point and my hand was shaking. I should have known better than to write it, but you live and learn. Plus it wasn't anything any one else but them and us were going to see. It was delic...

This was my first shot at the 3d deer head cake. I thibk it turned out pretty good. It is made of chocolate cake with buttercream icing. It was actually pretty easy to do. My dad, the avid hunter LOVED it! I want to tryto make it again and fix a few things, but, I was still pretty happy with my first try and having never made a sculptured cake before.

This guy is my very first sculpted cake. (It’s only the 3rd cake I have ever decorated other than slapping some frosting on a sheet cake!...lol) He didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped. Next time there is a few things that I will do differently. It was a fun learning experience though and the family just loved him. I want to thank mjones17 for the instructions and to LittleBigMomma for her encouragement.

Boy, this one needs a lot of changing. I needed to do his antlers in royal icing and stupid me used buttercream and his nose is all wrong, crooked eyes..the only thing I half-way like is the back board... lol. Luckily it was just practice.

Marble cake with chocolate and buttercream icing. The antlers are fondant with vertical lines scribed into them to give a more real appearance (DH's idea). Fondant nose, eyes and inner ears painted black using food paste, fondant leaves painted brown. The only part which is not edible is the bullet shell. I have to improve on the eyes, one of this deer's eyes is a little high...

I got this idea from a cake already on here. This was my first time painting fondant. It is much harder than it looks. The leaf and acorn were fun to make though.

I made this for my husband and son on the first day of hunting season. It's a good thing since it's the only deer they got!! I got this idea from someone else on this site. My kids all had a different idea of what it really looked like. HaHa!!! One said it looked like it had a Koala head, one said it looked like a dog and another thought it looked like a cat. Hey, I did my best!!!

Thanks to other's on here for insturctions...this was a true labor of love for my husband's surprise bday party. All his bow club members were quite impressed but were quick to point out my interpretation of antlers were not quite true to life. Oh well!

I took 3 or 4 cakes from this site, and made my own design. Thanks for all of the ideas. I did this along with my other 3 cakes and 48 cupcakes that weekend. I was busy, but praise the Lord for the business. I bought the kit from Wal-Mart as I haven't tried the sculpting thing yet. The entire cake is piped in 16 stars. The creek is from blue bc and piping gel. The customer was pleased.

This cake had the same design as the Beagle and Rabbit one, but I thought the design fit both. Again, fondant boy, rifle, and fawn.

Okay, I couldn't stand it. I tried to clean up the 18 a little. Then decided to make the camo look like stitched fabric. I always do this; take a picture of that cake then decide after looking at it I need to change some things. :-) Wish we were able to delete pics! :-)

This is a 3 layer butter cake. Covered in brown buttercream icing. The waterfall is fondant with a coat of piping gel for the shine. The trees are sugar cones, and the rocks are jelly bean pebbles. I made this for my brothers grooms cake. Inspired by a photo of a cake I had seen somewhere.

Thank you to all of you who have posted your examples they were a huge help in making this cake. This was my first sculpted cake and I felt pretty good about it, the pictures do not come close to doing it justice. It was lemmon buttermilk cake with rasberry moose filling. Full sheet pan size, it fed about 70. Next time I will make the antlers a little bigger, I had to make them a week in advance and it is hard without having the cake done to judge the corect size. Thank you for looking.

I thought I was going along pretty good on this one til I realized that I forgot to cover the antlers in royal icing! In a pinch, I covered them in fondant, we'll see how it holds up. His nose is a little too big, but beyond that I'm very pleased for my first try with this. I'm really enjoying experimenting with sculpting cake! Thanks for looking!

Aggh! This cake like to have made me crazy! I could not get it to look quite right, despite the wonderful instructions! Guess it would not have been so bad had I not had a Bride's cake to do as well.......The couple loved it though........and it tasted good. Double chocolate cake filled with Cream Cheese icing and iced with Chocolate Ganache Buttercream.

A cake done for my son's class. The teacher requested that it not have Santa or anything religious in it but I still wanted it to be fun for the kids. It was a big hit. Covered in decorator frosting with white glitter (edible of course) and fondant figures
