This was a 10" round bottom, with the "doll dress" cake on top, but I cut it down to a diameter of 8", and rounded-off the top. I put it on a board & off-set it, so part of it was off the back of the 10" cake, to give more room for "ocean & waves". This was a really fun cake, thanks for looking!

Cake created for Ballroom Dance Lovers Event. The theme for the evening was The Love Boat. Torted vanilla cream and chocolate mahogany cake with chamboard soak. Filling and icing are raspberry sherbert IMBC. Coverature is fondant, decorations are gumpaste and fondant. Picture of dancers is hand painted with petal dust 'paint' (sunset is dry luster dust) on a gumpaste plaque.

This was not my orginal idea when I first planned these...the humidity KILLED my 4 inch bright pink fire dancer that was supposed to be standing in the cupcakes. I had to give in and try to free hand the dancer on fondant, luckily the woman loved them. (the fire dancer id the dave matthews band logo)

I was supposed to put sugar run fire dancers on these too.....humidity killed them as well. So I had to free hand these too. I was so nervous, but again, the woman loved them! *fire dancer is the dave matthews logo*

This was my attempt at Debbie Brown's Sugar Plum Fairy...6" round yellow w/ buttercream and fondant. Unfortunately her face looks more like Olive Oyle than a ballerina...next time I will use more spacing between the layers of frill for the skirt to save material and time! Please comment as I am a beginner and desire feedback. I am also really intersted in a price range for this cake. THANKS

This was a lot of fun and new experiences for me! It's chocolate cake with fresh strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream. This was my first time making gumpaste flowers it was a little stressful since I don't even own any cutters! The hula girl is modeling chocolate and all the other accents are gumpaste. I did add graham cracker sand once I go to the party.

All icing is buttercream, the ballroom dancers are made with stars
and smoothed with a brush. The dance floor was painted on with a brush, icing gel and lemon extract.

This is a birthday cake made for my niece before finding this forum. Her skirt is all buttercream (her top is a doll top from one of my daughter's dolls). Just imagine how much smoother she would be now that I know about the viva method!!

Ballerina cake for my co-workers 4 year old daughter Samantha. Strawberry cake with vanilla bc filling and bc icing. The skirt ruffles are bc piped with a tip 103 in varying shades of pink (used a LOT of icing). The top layer of skirt, tank, and pointed foot are all MMF. The 4 is white chocolate dusted with pink edible glitter. Inspired by Icemom's ballerina cake.

A Ballet teacher asked me to design cookies for the 10th anniversary of her Dance school. She wanted different ones for the ballerinas and male dancers. This is what I came up with

Ballerinas made from fondant. These were placed on frosted cupcakes for a birthday party. The birthday girls each got a ballerina and the rest of the cupcakes each had a simple pink and white flower on top. I was inspired by Debbie Brown's ballerina in her book, "Enchanted Cakes for Children."

Two layers. I was trying to make the cake look like the square dancers skirts. I don't like my daiisies, I made them out of gumpaste but didin't have time for them to dry. Do they even look like daisis? I literally had one day to plan this cake.

The birthday girl is a belly dancer with a purple outfit. It is fondant with melted jolly rancher gems (molded) and dragees. Sorry, the photo looks "digital"...don't know why camera is doing that.

This is for my husband's birthday today. He's at work and knows he's getting a cake, but doesn't know what it will be. I baked, filled, carved, and iced it yesterday and decorated it today in about 3.5 hours. I wish I had a day or two to decorate it so I could pipe lush fringe, use glitters and shimmers and luster dusts, hard candy jewels, etc. Princess cake with cherry mousse filling.
