This was presented to my husband by my son and then taken to my Dad's house for a Father's Day celebration. Each Dad was given a cigar to enjoy after we ate. It was strawberry with buttercream icing ~ dad's favorite! My son picked out the wood grain and we had it printed on edible images along with the plaque and note to dad. Pictures were taken before my brother tried to open it!

I made this cake for my Dad's birthday about ten years ago. It was iced with chocolate buttercream. The buttons on the remote are chocolate bar squares with numbers piped on them. I used my daughter's TV, sofa & "dad" from her doll house (yes I put them through the dishwasher first!) as accesories. Dad loved it!

My dad is so musical and he shares his love for music with my little girl. He plays any instrument going and has made his own fiddle, named after my Lindsey Margaret... This cake is for his birthday party this afternoon.

The cake has edible images on the side, with piano keys around the top made from fondant. The picture burst on the top is not edible - just for looks. It is a pistachio cake with almond icing.

Thanks for looking!

M dad just got out of the hospital; this is his welcome home cake. Chocolate cake with cream cheese filling and chocolate peanut butter frosting (as requested by him). Boy was that frosting hard to work with!

I made this cake for a friend’s husband, he raises roosters and loves to be around them, I wanted to try to make tile with fondant and this was the perfect cake to practice on. I got the idea off a cake I found here in the gallery.

Just 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 yellow(my family is simple to say the least-no frufru flavors for them!) I did several edible images of various times of his life and various people in them. Brought tears to his eyes as several of them have passed (his parents, grandparents, my mom, his cousin) but meant alot to him to be able to see the pictures! It's just a thought-nothing fancy-just made with love!

Made this cake for my parents ... they both turned 60 last year ... this is them and their grandkids. The horse on the table is a replica of one I've got in my window - ever since my dad saw it he's been saying how much he like it. Couldn't get him a real one so I had to do a fondant one :)

The couch is filled with several of my dad's favourite items. It's a very personalized cake with hidden messages all around. He loves movies, soccer, our white puppy, orange juice, roast duck...strong coffee and snacks. The little seal looking white animal on the chair is a treasured childhood soft toy of mine which represents me when I was younger. It's my first attempt at sculpting and all the decorations were made with fondant. The couch was made with Chocolate modelling paste to resemble leather

This was made for my dad w/his new fathers day present. I wish we could upload pics of people, cause this little fellow looks just like him w/dark eyebrows and all. LOL--we all had a good laugh with it. My family all had some part with sculpting the figures. Marthas caramel apple cake/with caramel cream cheese filling and IMBC. thx krissy_kze for the tv idea.

I didn't get this picture submitted in time for the father's day contest (I just didn't have a minute to spare), but I had fun making it. My 5 year old little girl drew the picture and wrote the words. I put it in my kopykake and transferred the image. I tried to mix the exact colors that she used in the drawing. He absolutely loved it!

I made this cake for my dad who is a big fisherman. All my life "fishing" has played the main theme in all his brithdays but I believe this cake made a lasting impression. I created the cake by using the decorations I had already in hand and a lot of imagination. The cake was spice flavored with cream cheese icing. There were 4 layers (2 cakes split in half) with a dab of icing between each layer, the plastic toys I bought from a craft store, food coloring for the water and chocolate chips for dirt and rock

I made this Cake for my dads birthday, and decorated it in a rush, so it;s not the most beautiful thing, but it's gonna taste good, the cake is apricot and peach and lemon , and in the buttercream icing, I used pina colada and lemon.

The cake was coconut with Chocolate Ganache filling and BC icing and fondant accents/ figures. The boat didn't get to be as detailed as I wanted it because the cake was falling apart in my hands. But it was a big hit. There is an anchor, a life preserver, and and a couple of crabs. One of the crabs was caught by the fishing line I put on the fishing rod. Thanks for looking!

This is my first attempt at making figures on a cake. I wanted a big smile and laugh out of my Dad on his 70th birthday.I have a gorrilla in the middle and elephants on the right and lions on the left. My water is blue dyed edible gel and my trees are pretzel sticks. This was a lot of fun to make and present!

My father's 49th birthday cake. All in buttercream. I made the DAD letters by pressing D & A cookie cutter letters into the cake then outlining the letters and filling them in with stars.

I made this cake for my dad to celebrate him coming home after working out of town for a while. i was in a hurry, so i used the Wilton ready use for decorating and just regular store bought chocolate for the base icing. this is one of my first cakes to decorate seriously, i really enjoy decorating and hope to do it professionally sometime soon.

Yellow cake with fondant, didn't think the couch was going to make it. But with help from my CC friends I think it might survive! Based off of a cake in Carol Deacon's Party Cake book.

I made this cake for my dad's birthday because he LOVES baseball. It was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I used the wilton sports pan to achieve the shape. The lines on the baseball as well as the grass were decorated using buttercream mixed with the cream cheese frosting.
