This is a cupcake cake made into the shape of a lion. I was asked to make a lion but not a scary one, more like a fun cartoon kinda lion. There are 24 cupcakes in it with buttercream icing. For the mane, I used my new best friend, LOL, Hershey's dark cocoa for the extra dark buttercream and then added it to my regular buttercream for milk chocolate. Then I put two bags of icing into one bag and piped the mane so that their would be two different colors instead of just one. I think it turned out okay but might just try striping the bag next time, it was hard piping pull out stars with two bags inside of one, LOL!! Got that idea of sugarcrafts website where they actually sell a bag made for that purpose but I was too cheap to buy it.

Gumpaste daisies and hand-piped chocolate hearts for vanilla/chocolate cupcakes.

Top cake was a bit scary! I accidentally baked a 6" cake instead of a 5", so when I assembled the cake on the top...it is actually 1/2" too large all the way around. Thank goodness it has a fondant ribbon base so I didn't have to do a piped border! whoops!!!

My friend found these cupcakes in a baby magazine. We used the colours and the non-pareils around each rim (the little white, round sprinkles).

The top cupcake is marked with a gumpaste heart because that has the little chocolate gold coin in it for good luck. (I didn't bake it in because I thought it would melt, so I just cut a slit in the baked cupcake and slipped in in before I iced it!)

The wooden stand was made as a Christmas gift last December from my awesome crafty dad. He's so clever!

This really had a Parisian feel to it! Maybe it was the black and soft pink colour combination. Whenever I hand-write on cakes, it always looks so French? I think it reminds me of those beautiful chalk menu boards at restaurants!

I got the idea from geehouse, so thanks! I had to adapt it though, I couldn't get the cupcakes to stay on the stryofoam ball so I cut the ball in half. Choc. mini cupcakes with buttercream frosting. I wrote on clay pot with paint pens.

This bride was SO much fun and let me be free to just do something kitchy and colourful for her. She wanted flowers on mini cupcakes and a big cupcake as the top cake to cut, with their initials in gumpaste.

Mini cupcakes are in 4 designs/flavours: Roasted Banana Buttermilk Cake with Sour Cream Buttercream, Sweet Lemon with Cream Cheese Buttercream, Dark Chocolate with Mocha Buttercream & Tahitian Vanilla with Fresh Raspberry Buttercream.

A small girly wedding....so sweet! Used pink gumpaste hearts inscribed with white scrollwork and edible white pearls as decoration.

Two types of cupcakes are Tahitian Vanilla with Madagascar Vanilla Buttercream & Sweet Lemon with Fresh Raspberry Buttercream.

We did this cupcake tower instead of the groom's cake with 1/2 vanilla and 1/2 chocolate cupcakes, with coordinating chocolate or vanilla BC icing. Each is decorated with a chocolate heart made from candy melts. This was a HIT, and I'm thrilled with the outcome! Thanks to Helen for the instructions for the blocks!

I decorated these cupcakes for my daughter's 3rd birthday. She had a Disney Princess-themed party, but she wanted cupcakes with flowers. I used the Disney Princess theme colors for the roses on the cupcakes and they went beautifully with all of the rest of the decorations. All of the kids were thrilled to each have so many of their very own flowers to eat. The cupcakes were decorated with all buttercream.

For my sister's 30th birthday. I made these for her party last night. It was at a really upscale wine lounge, so I figured that cupcakes would be so much more convenient than a large cake. The giant cupcake was for her, and next to this, I had a cupcake tree (see my photo album for more photos). Didn't have a large cupcake wrapper, so I did the best I could wrapping it with fondant. Needless to say, they were a total hit! So many people want me to do cakes for them now! I put two plastic dogs on each side.

This is a cupcake wedding cake. I used a cupcake tree to arrange the decorated cupcakes on then I made a 2 layer cake and added it to the top tier of the tree. I garnished it with satin roses.

A cupcake cake I made for my nephew's school party! Vanilla cupcakes with buttercream tinted in deep blue. You should have seen their little faces when they were done with the cupcakes - they all looked like Smurfs!!

Made some cupcakes for my Daughter's Elementary School Fall Festival's Cake Walk. I got the ideas from a Wilton Yearbook. I made it last minute and I was glad I was able to pull it off.

The couple's theme for the wedding included angel wings, so I incorporated them into their cupcake display on top of the MadHatter cake (5" and 8" cakes) using pastillage piped with royal icing "feathers" and then as toppers on each mini cupcake (110!) with royal icing "wings".

Cupcake stand was rented courtesy of a fellow CC member...Flourgrl!! Woo hoo! Thanks Lisa!! (I had accidentally double-booked my round stand and she came through for me big time last-minute with the use of hers!!)

Everything a penguin could dream of doing can be done here!
My first cupcake cake. I made this last night/this morning for my son's birthday to bring to school. Can't wait to see his expression and those of his classmates. Got the idea from all the wonderful penguin cakes I've seen on this site. Thanks everyone! Penguins are snowball fighting, skiing, fishing, building snow penguins, and making snow penguin angels.

Definitely grown-up cupcakes. Frosting is a mocha cream with flecks of espresso and a splash of brandy. YUM. Cupcakes are Gingerbread Spice and Cappuccino Chip.

Wakey, wakey!!

another one I didnt get around to uploading until now lol. Christmas tree cupcakes for my nephew's grade 2 class. I'm pretty sure the cupcakes were half choco and half vanilla, I forget though lol. and I just used regular BC for the icing (mixed cocoa powder with the tree stump. Was nothing that spectacular as I had taken on making mini gingerbread slabs for 80 daycare kids and was rather uninspired that week to bake anything else :))

Made this in behalf of the PTA for the Teacher's Luncheon today. We were suppose to have held this last week, but due to Snow/Ice Weather school was cancelled.

So belated Happy Valentine's Teachers!!

Vanilla & Dark Chocolate cupcakes iced with a swirl of ivroy buttercream & large ivory buttercream roses. Simple, but I loved the display.

(One thing I do wish is that they could have given me a larger table....I hate the look of the tower's corners going off each side. Grrrrr! )

I've finally gotten the chance to make this cake to Celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday. My twins Pre-K class celebrated today. It was a big hit with the kids and teacher... Dr. Seuss brings back fond memories for me from my childhood. Thanks for looking !!!!

Cupcakes baked in ice cream cones and decorated in decorator's icing. Made these for my son's 8th birthday for a lunch time birthday party at his school for his class. The teacher really loved this idea instead of the traditional cake or cupcakes - far less mess!
