Everyone who can tell I have never even SEEN a gamecube....raise your hand! :) LOL. This is for my nephew's 8th birthday tomorrow. He saw a similar cube on here when we were looking for ideas, and that was what he wanted! Thanks all for looking...and for being such an inspiration!

8 inch cube (to resemble toy block). 4 layers dark chocolate mud cake with layers of dark chocolate ganache. Covered in white fondx. Lemon yellow trim also fondant pushed through clay gun. Lettering, booties and plaque are gumpaste. Its for a baby boy christening. Lots of grief putting the fondant on such a tall cake, started to rip and break in corners.. all suggestions on this welcome

I made this cake for a suprise 80s theme dinner party. They loved it....thank goodness because it didn't come out right at all but despite my frumpy Rubik's cube they still liked it.

Block 1st birthday cake. Cust saw something similar on an oprah show where they spelt the childs name out with one letter on each block. Could not find the pic so I went on her description. 6 x 4 inch dark chocolate mud cake covered in fodant. All accents fondant. Took forever. Happy with outcome although would do differently next time... to save time. Thanks for looking.

Not the way I originally wanted to do it but it's so much fun to play with like this. Each piece is completely covered in fondant and the "stickers" are in the correct places so you could make any color combination possible with a real rubik's cube. For those of you who have taken one apart, the center piece is there as one big piece though it should have been bigger. Very yummy and fun to play with!

This was my first attempt at decorated sugar cubes. LOL, the first 50 I made went in the trash. I was pretty happy with these though. Talk about a small canvas!

I had seen decorated sugar cubes at several websites before. I thought I would give it a try myself for my friends baby shower tea party. They were actually pretty easy to make. Everyone just loved them!

This has been my best cake yet. Six layers of dark chocolate fudge with peppermint chocolate ganache and coffee buttercream frosting. It was a bit difficult to do the lines and numbers because I overwhipped my frosting and it had lots of air bubbles in it.

My daughter had an 80's theme bday party so I made her a Rubiks cube. The fondant squares started to slide a little in the heat. I would probably do a full fondant cake and put the squares on that instead of using buttercream.

For a sweet sixteen with an "awards" theme. It is roughly 10"x10"x10", yellow cake with chocolate bavarian cream filling (so yummy). Fondant, fondant, fondant! Made film strips over the weekend to allow drying time. Rolled white fondant out on a large piece of plastic tablecloth and unrolled it onto the cake. So much fun to make!!! =D

Our friend wanted a 30th birthday cake for her husband. She gave us the napkin she wanted to use and gave us total creative freedom. Here is what me and my DH came up with.

The girl who ordered this cake just said it was for an 80's themed birthday party. She left the design (& flavors!) up to me! I made marble cakes from scratch filled with chocolate buttercream & iced with vanilla buttercream. I made 80's themed chocolate transfers all around the sides. (You can see them better in another photo I have up!) Thanks for looking!

I made these little sugar cubes for my SIL, I decorated them for both her B-day & Valentines day. They are simple & to make with your left over RI and you can keep them for a long long time. They are the basic white cubes & some brown sugar cubes I picked up in Canada. If I dont make it up there, I get my MIL to bring me some. I have yet to find them here unless they are imported from Europe & cost $8.00 per pound.

The cake is a lie...but the cookie is not :) For my birthday one of my friend got me The Orange Box. (a really popular video game) One of the games is called "Portal", and it's a fun puzzle game. The cube is your beloved companion, so I paid tribute to mine in the form of gingerbread since i didn't have cake :)

My version of the rubik's cube cake. I made my own 29th birthday cake. If I made it again I'd cover the boards with black fondant, or ice over the sides of them. Started with a 12x12 pan and quartered it. Iced with homemade chocolate cream cheese icing and tinted and molded chocolate tiles.
